Thirty Years

Images flashed through her line of vision without stopping. For 30 years she lived for him. She gave up her family, her own dreams, and herself to be with him. Although today is her 41st birthday, she has no celebration. She no longer has any loved ones to laugh and smile with. She now realizes that to love is not the same as to be loved. Far away and living carefree he has forgotten her by now. His new wife took everything from her, pretending to be close to her, but stabbing her in the back. At the end of this short life, the only thing she feels is cold. If only she could have a second chance. Then she would know to treasure those around her and herself.
