Tessa's pov

I sprint down the street towards the high school with so much running through my mind.
Is this really the right thing to be doing, this guy could be a crazy psychopath, he also might be innocent and I'm the crazy psychopath.
I ripped the hair tie for my hair letting my knotty curls falls down over my shoulders
The front lights of the school appeared and then I suddenly noticed a car sitting in the parking lot with the engine on but the lights off. I quickly tucked behind a near by tree trunk to catch my breathe. I was about to get up and walk towards his car when suddenly another cars headlights shone towards me.
A car was driving past and into the school, hopefully they didn't notice me crouching in the bush.
I didn't recognise the car so I stayed behind the tree.
The two cars sat side by side until they turned their engines off, I heard the doors open and foots steps approach each other. I couldn't make out their conversation but I knew I heard Isaacs voice.
I went to reach for my phone to text Kendall when I noticed she'd sent at least 11 texts.
-Tessa!
-Tess!
-listen to me
-ok I know this is crazy
-just bare with me!
-when you meet him pretend everything is ok
-ok?
-trust me, if you freak out he might do something
-just have your phone on recording
-or on call
-just believe me, you can't trust him!

I went to reply to her message when I got an incoming text
It was from Isaac!
I opened the message and it read..
-Why are you hiding?

I froze.. why would he...
unless he did see me hiding in the bush
My hands shaking, I replied to the message
-I didn't agree to bringing tag alongs
I tried my best to not sound creeped out

-he's a friend, and he's not staying

I sighed, leaning against the trunk in complete confusion, what am I doing with my life
Running off with crazy hot and creepy guys at night in bare feet
I turned the recorder on my phone on and slowly stood up feeling defeated, I took in a deep breathe and quickly turned towards the school marching towards the cars
I couldn't see their faces or bodies, it was like no one was there
As I approached them I began to slow down, feeling more hesitant to closer I got
Suddenly one of them approached me and I stopped in my tracks almost backing off
"Woah it's me" I heard Isaacs voice
I almost sighed in relief, but I had to fake I was normal
I walked closer to him
"Something wrong?" He asked noticing my discomfort
"Oh sorry I literally can't see I thing" I said squinting my eyes to seal the act, even though I really couldn't see anything
"Here" he said taking my hand towards one of the cars
We passed the other person and I felt their eyes on me, making me uncomfortable
"What will it be then?" They asked, it was an older man, with a husky Irish accent
He helped me in the car before answering...
"$800 and no less" he said firmly
"That's a lot of money for something that easy" replied the other man dissatisfied
"I know my money Mr Hathaway, take it or leave it" he said not expecting a reply
He slammed the door shut and roared the car to life
"Where are we going?" I asked my heart beginning to thump
"In N out" he smiled toward me
"Who was that man anyway? And what did he what at this time?" I asked suspicious
"Car sales men, I sell him old vintage cars I fix up and he sells them in his commercial shops" he said professionally
It was quiet, there was obviously there was something wrong, but after what Kendall told me I had to act like it was something else, like it was some teenage drama
"So what did you need to talk about?" He asked concerned
I turned to look out the window to act saddened when I was actually thinking about some imaginary scenario
"It's just... I over heard my mum on the phone, she's found a potential buyer and she's hoping to move sooner.." I stumbled
"Oh that's good... what's the problem then?" He asked
"Well, I only just met you and I think we have a real connection together and the thought of a long distance relationship with all my friends picks at me, I just can't bring myself to..." I cringed at my cheesiness and even faked a sniffle
"Hey hey, it's okay" he smiled giving me a knowing glance
I pulled my hair over my face to hide my eyes from him.
"I don't want to leave so soon" I said quietly
He didn't reply
I waited for him to say something but he continued to give me silence, I looked up and his face was sour, rough and cold
His eyes glued to the horizon, his lips pierced, his knuckles whitening as he gripped the wheel
I felt the car speed up slightly and I began to feel uneasy
He seemed to snap out of it and a more sinister smirk swept upon his face, something cruel and dark
"Your a damn good liar Tessa" he hissed while glaring at the road
My skin shivered
What do I say, what do I do, he must know I'm lying
"What do you mean?" I stuttered
He snickered evily
"Why are you doing this?" He asked
"D-doing what?" I shuddered
"Do you really not trust me enough that you have to record everything I do" he said robotically
I saw the bright lights of the local in N out turn the corner but Isaac sped up, whizzing past the drive through.
I sat up quickly watching it disappear into the distance, as I turned around my seat to see the lights vanish another appeared.
The headlights of a vehicle popped out from around the corner and drive right up to the car, suddenly blue and red colours spilled into the dark night and a wave of relief flooded over me
"Police!" I said almost excitedly
I turned to look at Isaac but he wasn't fazed
He slowed the car and ran his fingers through his hair
I felt a burst of energy, I was ready to run
As the police officer approached the window I saw Isaac shift in his seat, was he scared?
The officer leaned against the door and peered in
"License And registration please" he ordered
He was an older man, over weight and tired, bags of sleepless nights long phone calls hung beneath his eyes as he lifelessly glared at Isaac.
This was it, he can help you!
"Officer could I please use your phone?" I asked as innocently as possible
He looked at me boredly "what's the issue?" He asked
I glanced at Isaac and back at the officer
Before I could make up an excuse I watched as Isaac lifted his hand and shot an explosion of light and noise.
The crushing of bone and splatter of blood sounded
My eyes widened in shock and disbelief
His body fell and so did my jaw, i inhaled to scream when Isaacs hand met my mouth.
He quickly struck my head with the gun and I was out cold.
Left with nothing but the ringing in my ears and the warm blood against my cheek.
