~Third person’s POV~

Liam and Daisy finished their conversation after reaching middle ground and discovering the truth from both sides. Meanwhile, Louis is confused over the whole situation, not sure who or what to believe. This whole place confused him, the safe zone- also known quite literally as ‘Hell’, it was a self proclaimed name- gave mixed signals and confused his mind. He wasn’t sure what to believe, he wasn’t even sure he could even believe Zayn anymore. Sure, he was hurt when Niall had practically destroyed his leg but there had to be a good reason for it right? If he really just wanted to hurt them or kill them he could have done it already. Niall had had plenty of opportunities to destroy them, to take their lives. There had to be a rational reason behind why he did what he did. At least, that was what Louis was convinced of. Zayn on the other hand was nothing short of utterly and completely confused. Liam had grown weary of the lad, avoiding him or sending him glances that sent shivers down his spine and guilt crashing over him. He didn’t know what to believe, and couldn’t help but feel slightly guilty after seeing the state that the soldiers had brought Niall in. He was certain that it had to have been those soldiers that had beaten him so badly; Niall was strong but didn’t stand a chance against men with weapons and brute strength- not to mention the numbers. He had been angry and desperate when giving those men his location, and he didn’t think that Niall would actually go back to that little shop. It was a fluke, and deep inside he was hoping that Niall wouldn’t return to that run down place- but luck was both on his side but not at all- all at the same time, don’t ask him how that was possible. Zayn didn’t know what to think, he didn’t know how to act now that he had lost everyone- Liam was avoiding him, Niall was ‘the cure’, Harry rarely spoke to him anymore, and Louis was beginning to become distant. He never planned on things working out this way, he had never thought about why Niall knew where this place was but never tried to go in. Now he knew that he was avoiding this place specifically, and just bringing them here was such a huge risk but he cared enough about them to risk it. Zayn had also discovered that- yes- he had been here before and chose to stay away. Based off how they had beaten him and paraded him around, Zayn understood why he had hated this place so much. Now he wishes that they had never arrived, that they had chosen to risk it and stay with Niall- to live in danger but away from the scariest danger yet. Confusion and wonder clouds all five boys’ minds- it has since they all arrived, some by force and others by choice- it has since even before they stepped foot into the compound, before they even stepped foot into ‘hell’. They had thought that outside was hell on earth, but now there were definite doubts about where the real hell was. Niall lay strapped to the operating table, panting sweat dried on his skin. The injections had finally ceased after a week straight of the torture- he was sure the only science used in this process was to figure out what would hurt the most to him without it actually killing him- and now he just lie down trying to prepare for what was to come next. Though, no one really could prepare for what he was about to witness. The first sign that something was wrong was that no one had appeared the entire day- at least Niall hadn’t seen anyone and that should have been his first clue but he was too consumed in the blissed out feeling of not having some toxic liquid running through his veins and attacking his system. The second sign was that even though it was like clockwork, Daisy didn’t show up that day and neither did Liam with whatever ‘scientist’ or ‘doctor’ accompanying him. Again, Niall paid it no mind assuming his mind was making time drag because he was no longer writhing in pain on the bed. The third sign that there was something seriously wrong was the appearance of Stan- a general in the militia that honestly only consisted of about 30 or so men- and Niall did realize something was off when he saw him walk through the door. His whole body tensed unconsciously, scared- terrified- for what was going to happen. All the while Stan stood smugly over near the door, drinking in the boy’s fear.
