* next morning *

I wake up and get ready for school

When I'm ready I go in my car and drive to school

When I get there I see my friend Nicole.

I walk up to her and we start talking

"Hey how are you" she says

"I'm good how are you"

"I'm fine"

"Well guess who recently got broken up with" I say

"Hmm let me guess... Zach?"

"Yup it's his sixth this month" I say

"Wow well how do you know" she asks

"He called me last night and told me how they broke up and that he really liked her. But I was like Zach you say that about everyone and he said he knows cause he feels that way about a lot of people. Then I told him that he should just stop dating people and he said how it's boring not too"

"Well did you tell him how you feel about him"

"No I couldn't"

"Seriously you've liked him forever now even his friends know. You have to tell him"

"I can't i don't know how to. Also I know he doesn't feel the same. He's literally told me how he thinks of me as a sister" I say

"Well if you don't tell him now he's just going to date another girl."

"I know I know I'm just scared" I agree

"Well when you do tell me" she says

We walk into class and I sit down. Zach's in all my classes and we either sit next to or behind one another

I hear him talking to his friend Jack.

"Well me and Zoe broke up" he says
"Wow I knew she wasn't the one" Jack says
"Well when am I going to find the one" Zach says
"I don't know you just haven't met the right one yet. Keep trying and maybe you'll find someone"
"It's so weird you say that. Cause i was just talking to Julia last night about this and she said I should stop dating people till I find someone who I really want to be with" he says
"Well what does she know" Jack says

Oh I forgot to mention this but Jack was the ex I was talking about earlier. Im used to him being mean to me.

"What do you mean" Zach says

"Well she hasn't had a boyfriend since me and that was a couple months ago" Jack says

"That doesn't mean she doesn't know what she's talking about"

"I don't agree. I think you should stick to listening to the ones who've actually had successful relationships" Jack  says

"Hey stop talking about her like that the only reason her last relationship didn't work was because well you couldn't get over your ex which led to you cheating so it's not really her fault" he says

"Why are you defending her" Jack asks

"Cause she's my best friend"

That made me really happy. When I heard that I started smiling a lot

"Well in that case why don't you just date her" Jack says

"She's like a sister to me I couldn't do that."

Oh great that's not what I wanted to hear

They stop talking and Zach realizes that I'm behind him

"Oh hey best friend" Zach says

"Hey. So have you found another girl to try and date"

"Surprisingly no"

"Wow this is a first"

"Hey don't be mean"he says laughing

"I'm kidding" I say

"Good hahaha" he says

Class starts and we get homework

For the rest of the day we just go to every class and leave

Once school is over I go in my car and drive home
