Into The Light

Double Date

Ever since I returned home from camp 4 days ago, All I've done is sleep, I haven't seen Sarah, Luke or Zack. Today, Sarah invited me to go shopping and she invited the guys to tag along as a double date.

It was already mid-afternoon and I still haven't moved from my bed. Just as I roll over to go back to sleep, I hear a knock on my door before it opens

"Delilah Elizabeth Jones, I know you aren't still in bed," Sarah says as she walks into my room

"I'm tired,"

"Well get up, Luke's mom is picking us up in 15 minutes,"

I sigh knowing that there's no winning against her, I pick a random outfit out of my closet and quickly get dressed

I look at my self in the mirror, I decide to quickly tie my hair back into a ponytail, put on some body spray.

"You look pretty,"

"Thanks"

I put my flip flops on, grab my purse and phone. We run down the stairs and out the front door just as Luke's mom pulls into the driveway.

"Nice to see you aren't dead," Luke says jokingly as Sarah and I get into the van

"I'm sorry, I've done nothing but sleep for the past few days,"

"Don't listen to him sweetie, Luke has been the same way," his mom says

"I think everyone does nothing but sleep the first few days," Sarah says

"I'm glad I'm not the only one,"

"If I didn't have to get up for soccer, I'd be sleeping in too," Zack says

"Oh right, practice started this week, how is that going?"

"It's good, I think it's going to be a good season for us,"

"Thankfully football is in the afternoon, so I get to sleep," Luke says

"Yeah, but I'd rather play in the morning before its 100 degrees outside,"

"That's the only downside to afternoon practice,"

"I'm just glad I'm athletically challenged," Sarah says

"Me too, I'm glad I'm not good at anything,"

"Not true," Zack says

"Okay, what am I good at?"

"You're Intelligent and good in school, and you're amazing at drawing" Luke says

"You're great at being my girlfriend," Zack says

I rolled my eyes, "You realize we've been dating for 6 days right?"

"They've been the best 6 days of my life"

Luke's mom turns into the mall parking lot and parks the car. "Alright guys, let me know when you're done and I'll come to pick you up,"

"Okay, bye mom,"

"Bye kids, have fun,"

Zack takes my hand in his and we walk toward the entrance.

"Sorry lover boy, but I'm stealing my best friend," Sarah says as she grabs my arm and pulls me away from him

"I want to spend time with my girlfriend,"

"You'll get chance later, but we need some girl time,"

Before he has the chance to protest, Sarah and I start walking into a clothing store.
