The next weekend was the weekend when we were getting baby Jackson.
Bryson, Samantha, and I waited at home while Dad and Marina got Jackson.
"We're home!" Dad said as him and Marina walked through the door.
Bryson, Samantha, and I greeted them at the door.
Marina was holding a baby car seat with a blanket over it. She slowly lifted the blanket so we could see the baby.
Jackson was so cute. He had curly blonde hair and chubby cheeks.
"Aww!" I said.
"He's so tiny." Bryson said.
Samantha looked up at Marina. "Why's he sleeping? It's day time."
Marina smiled and walked into the living room. "Jackson's just a little baby. He needs to sleep a lot."
"Oh..." Samantha mumbled.
Marina took Jackson out of the baby car seat and cradled him in her arms.
As I watched her cuddle him, I smiled. She looks like a great mom.
Dad came into the living room with us and smiled. "Do you like him?"
I nodded. "He's adorable!"
The rest of they day was spent gushing over Jackson and helping Marina and Dad get settled.

The first night with Jackson was brutal. He cries and cried for hours. I could have slept through it but Samantha didn't. She crawled into my bed in the middle of the night and woke me up. She kept on talking and kicking me. I only got about four hours of sleep.

I walked into school on Monday looking like a wreck.
"Sophie, are you ok?" Cal asked me.
I shrugged. "Not really. I'm sleep deprived."
Cal looked at me funny. "Uh, why?"
"My parents adopted a baby." I replied. "Life is not good right now."
Cal laughed. "You can come over after school today if you want."
I nodded.
"You know, to do homework in quiet." He added.
"That would be great." I said with a smile. "Thanks."

After school I called Dad, told him I was going to Cal's house to study, and then walked with Cal to his house.
We did our homework but finished late so I are dinner with him and his family.
"It's getting late." I said after dinner. "I should go."
"Ok." Cal said. "It was fun having you here."
I smiled. "Thanks for saving me from my own home."
Cal gave me a friendly hug before I walked out the door. "Anytime."
"Wish me luck." I said with a giggle.
"Good luck!" Cal yelled. "Bye!"
I waved then walked home.
I passed Laura and Carson's house and smiled to myself.
Then I herd footsteps.
"Sophie?!" A familiar voice called.
I turned my head.
"It's me." They said.
It wad Carson.
I walked over to him and smiled.
He wrapped his hands around my waist and hugged me.
I looked up and kissed his lips.
"Where were you this afternoon?" Carson asked. "I wanted to talk to you."
"I was studying at Cal's house." I answered. "Talk to me now."
Carson gave me a kiss. "An we go out this weekend?"
I nodded. "Yeah. That would be fun." I thought for a moment. "How about a movie?"
"That's fine with me." He agreed. "We'll go after school on Friday." Carson said.
I smiled. "Sounds great."
I buried my head in his jacket and hugged him tightly.
"Sophie." He said.
"Yes?" I replied without moving my head from the warmth of his hoodie.
Carson kissed the top of my head. "Your perfect."
I giggled. "I wouldn't go that far."
"I mean, your perfect in my eyes." Carson said. "I truly believe your the girl I want to be with for the rest of my life."
I smiled. "Aww. That's so sweet."
Carson looked into my eyes. "I want to one day call you my wife. And be the father of your children. And grow old together."
I giggled. "Well no kids for a long time! I have career plans!" I exclaimed. "I feel the sane way about you." my voice got softer. "I want to marry you. Become parents together. Watch our children grow up. become grandparents."
Carson smiled at me and gave me another kiss. "I really like you."
"I really like you too." I paused. "But I have to go."
Carson and I shared one last, long kiss and then parted.
I snuck inside my house and yip toed to my room. I changed into flannel pants, a t-shirt, and a hoddie then went to sleep thinking of Carson.
