Roman smiled wide as people greeted him. Everyone loved him, literally. There wasn't a single person who could say otherwise. Well, except for one.

Virgil didn't hate him. He didn't dislike him. However, he refused to fall all over him. He made sure to stay away from him, and not allow him to get close. He knew that talking to him would be dangerous given that he was so obviously crushing on him. So he kept his distance, not wanting to fall further.

Roman slipped away during lunch, wanting some time to himself. He found himself in the auditorium, breathing in the comforting smell of the place. He always had a passion for theatre, but he didn't do it at his school. He played parts in community theatre to avoid the constant weight of his social status in his school. Still, the auditorium was a comforting place for him to slip away to.

Little did he know Virgil was inside too. He soon found out he wasn't alone when he heard a gorgeous voice.

"I close my eyes, and I can see, a world that's waiting up for me, that I call my own," it sang. "Through the dark, through the door, through where no one's been before, but it feels like home."

"Who is that?" he whispered to himself as he searched for the source of the voice.

Virgil smiled, strolling through the auditorium, the complete opposite side than Roman and unaware of his presence. "They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy. They can say, they can say I've lost my mind."

Roman tried to follow the voice, entranced by it. He looked around for the singer, heart racing in his chest.

"We can live in a world that we design," Virgil sang, smiling wider as he got to his favorite part. "Cause every night I lie in bed, the brightest colors fill my head, a million dreams are keeping me awake. I think of what the world could be, a vision of the one I see, a million dreams is all it's gonna take."

Roman found him, watching from a few feet away as he sang. "A million dreams for the world we're gonna make," he finished, sighing happily.

"It's you."

Virgil let out a yell as he jumped away from the voice he recognized as Roman Prince's. "W-What? Uh- how long were you- um- I wasn't-"

"It's Virgil, right?" the popular prince asked as he got closer to him. "I had no idea you could sing like that. It's like you've the voice of a nightingale!"

The anxious emo laughed nervously. "Was that r-reference intentional?" he asked, trying to calm down.

Roman nodded with a smirk as he took his hand and pressed a kiss to his knuckles. "It is a pleasure to finally speak with you, Virgil," he said with a small laugh as he blushed furiously. "Would you like to accompany me for some coffee this afternoon?"

"I-I'd love to," Virgil managed, a shaky smile spreading across his face.
