Water. So much. What else is in the world?

Left...right...up...down.... which is which, again?

Somewhere, my brain is working overtime to snap me back to reality.

The propeller! I think. Get far away from the boat propeller!

I move my jellylike arms. I don't know which way I'm going. Hopefully away from the motor boat.

I can't tell what's happening above me. All there is is water.

Air, Natalie. You need air.

Well, shoot.

My arms push me in some random direction. Wherever I am, it's not where air is.

My chest wants to implode. The pressure from the need for air is so much that I can't keep going.

Why not, Natalie? You could be with your parents.

Now I've lost it. My mind. Air. What's it like to breathe again?

Perhaps I'll never know.

Air is so far. I can't...think....

Preston....

My mind goes blank.
