Author's Note
[Man, I haven't done one of these in a while]
I was planning on having only 12 chapters for this book, since the clock only has twelve numbers on it and that'd be sort of cool, you know. But based on the flow of the story, I might have to write a sequel or go for a full 24 chapters.
Anyways I just wanted to clear the air ahead of time, in case people are grossed out by the events of the novel. Allow me to state the obvious fact that they're vampires. Nothing unusual, just a couple of vampires, in a vampire story, doing their own little vampire thing—surviving and loving someone with like a decade's (occasionally even a century's) gap, for a couple thousand years. On that note, Cross would be around fourteen human years old in the first chapter.
