KABANATA XXVII: Nakalimutan Ko

"What's that poknat?" narinig kong tanong ni Mateo mula sa aking likuran. Itinaas ko ang aking hawak na imbitasyon at pinagkibit balikat, "My parents are back with the perfect daughter." lumikha pa ko ng kaunting tawa bago tuluyang inabot sakanya.

I placed the party invitation on the table. I have no plans of going, at least for the moment.

Nanlaki ang mata niya, "The hell? The same over reacting Mateo.

"Of course not Mateo and what's new they've always neglected me." I said as a matter of fact.

Pity was written all over his face. I shrugged it off. "Stop pitying me Mathew. I'm fine and besides KUYA is all that matter to me." Totoo ang sinabi ko. I don't care if they are back and I don't even want to attend the party but Kuya insisted and knowing my attachment with him I can't say no.

Kahit madalas MIA si Kuya ngayon because of everything that happen with Angel and Tofer on the side.  I understand that right now his priority is his own family.

"Ugggh I hate your life." Mas frustrated pa siya sakin.

"I know right"

I shrugged, "I really don't know pero mukhang kailangan look at the back part." And he did as I said.

May note dun written with the handwriting of my mother telling I should come and the family should be complete.

"You're evil mother really know how to force you."

Finally they are back, back to the house that never felt home for me.

After 5 years of living abroad and erasing me from their lives, at last bumalik na sila and what a way to inform their prodigal daughter about their return with a piece of red invitation.

My attention was caught by my blinking phone, "Hello?" I answered. It's Ken, the ever makulit na Ken.

(I miss you!)

I rolled my eyes, "Ken it's exactly 2 hours and 33 minutes since we talked and you're telling me you missed me?"

(Wow!

(I love you!)

Those 3 magical words can shut me up.

(Wanna go to the church? Tomorrow perhaps?) aniya.

"Baka masunog tayo dun?" I joked at him.
