Chapter 29
A week later, Kendall and I were were watching reruns of Gossip Girl. It seems we never get tired of it. We heard a knock and I went to answer it. Kendall's parents stood on the other side. I gasped and jumped backwards. Kendall hurried to my side. He pushed me behind him.
"What do you want?" Kendall demanded.
"To talk." Lydia answered him.
"I don't think that's a good idea."
Vincent entered the room. "Who's at the door?" He saw Kendall's parents and leaped in front of us.
"Get out!" He shouted.
"Relax, Vincent." Ronald raised his hand."We're here to tell you that we're leaving Manhattan."
"And we can trust you because?" Vincent asked.
"You don't have to. You just won't see us again for a long time." Then they were gone.
Lydia and Ronald Sparks left the Donaldson house. They started running at vampire speed.
"Do you think they believe us?" Lydia asked.
"I don't know, but they won't see us for about a decade." Ronald paused. "Then we'll return."
