Clarke broke their embrace and wiped the tears from her eyes. "Come on" she said. "I have a smoker over here for meat."
Bellamy followed Clarke to a small hut behind the house. It was full of meat and reminded him of the one they had at their drop ship when they first landed. "I'm impressed" Bellamy said as he flashed Clarke a smile. "What? Us princesses can't survive?" Bellamy let out a chuckle and they both went into the hut and grabbed the meat they needed and proceeded to take it to the fire to cook. Once Clarke got all of the meat above the fire to smoke, she sat down beside Bellamy who was watching the fire go.
"So how was it?" Clarke said, breaking the silence between them. "What, space? It was different. Nothing like being on the ground though." Bellamy said and then looked to the ground, breaking eye contact with Clarke. "I thought you were dead."
"I'm not though. I am right here."
"I left you behind Clarke. I am so -"
"Don't. It had to be done. It's what I wanted you guys to do. I tried calling out over the radio to tell you guys not to wait. It was my choice to stay behind. It was the right choice. It saved you."
"It saved you" Bellamy thought. And with that one thought sparked something in Bellamy that he had never felt before. He was suddenly overcome with such emotion. He grabbed Clarke's cheeks and kissed her. It was nothing like he or she had felt before. The feelings had always been there, but neither of them had time to express them. And in that moment, Bellamy didn't want to express anything with words.
