Imagine: you and Gabriel got in a fight and stopped talking to each other for a week. Both of you were miserable but too stubborn to face each other. One day he couldn't take it anymore and came to see you, which is when both of you broke down.
You: "Gabriel.... what are you doing here?"
Gabriel: "I-I missed you."
You: *runs into his arms and cries* "Gabe I missed you too! I'm so sorry!"
Gabriel: *starts to cry as well* "it's ok sweetie. It wasn't your fault. You had every right to be mad at me. I'm sorry."
You: "I don't ever want to fight like this again."
Gabriel: "me either. So.... still love me?"
You: "Gabe. I will always love you."
