Imagine: Jared is signing autographs at a convention when he hears your name in someone's conversation a ways back. It perks his attention until he hears that they're talking badly about you. His excitement of hearing you name turns into anger and confusion of how someone could possibly think such bad things about you.
Fan 1: "yeah I just don't understand how he could like (y/n)! He's way out of her league."
Fan 2: "yeah she's not that pretty. She just doesn't seem right for him. Hey how much you wanna bet she's using him for money"
Fan 1: "yeah she just sucks. I hate (y/n). With a passion."
*a couple minutes later when they're at the front of the line*
Fan 1: "hi I'm such a big fan!"
