|Chapter Thirty|

Ruby

     I slept after reading and re-reading Ethan's good night message to me which was just three sentences,
'I am so glad to have you back in my life. Dream about me, love. Goodnight.'

The next morning, he called me, we talked for a while before hanging up, he was getting ready for his church service but mine was an afternoon service so I had all the morning to myself.

I began to draw out my business plan and my brand name, Business Personified. I kept working and eating the bagel and coffee I had prepared earlier this morning. Soon, it was time to get ready for service so I put all I was doing hold.

The next day, Ethan called again in the morning around 07:00 when I was on my way to work. We talked some more and from the conversation I could point out that he was a workaholic or how would you explain why a CEO has to be in his office before 07:00. I hung up as I drove into MBCF's parking lot. I can feel the day was going to be quite good.

Ethan

     It's been five days since I met with Ruby a second time I had just finished a meeting, I went straight to my office and then I called her. As the phone rang, I looked at the wall clock in my office, 05:45. Her voice came on,

"Hello."

"Hello dear. How are you?"

"I am fine and you?"

"I am okay dear. Where are you right now?"

"I am at Phase Two. Bills Mergers and Acquisitions. I came to see a client."

"All right. I am still at the office though I will be leaving soon, we can talk later. Do take care."

"All right. Talk to you later." She said and I ended the call. I arranged the files I have worked on to a straight pile and then I stood up to switch off the air conditioner and major lights. I take a look at the room again and then I picked up my phone and tablet and I took my leave. As I stepped out of the building, Devin appeared from nowhere, he had the habit of doing that and asked,

"We heading home?"

"Nope. We are going to Phase Two. Bills Mergers and Acquisitions." I answered as we approached my black SUV.

"Mergers and Acquisitions? Is that another meeting?"

"No Devin. I am going there to wine and dine right in their frontal. Can you just step on it or should we switch?" I said, sarcasm dripping from my statement as we got in and I sat just opposite the driver's seat, the SUV roared to life and got the move on.

Soon, we were at our destination, Devin drove into their car park and I could see Ruby's car, two cars were between us. I got down from the car and waited by it patiently. As I scrolled through my social media, Devin asked,

"Did we come all the way here to stand by the car?"

"Will you just stop disturbing me?"

"Yeah, when you tell me why we are here."

"God! Can't you just be quiet for once and mind your business?" I asked, not wanting to tell him why I was here. I looked up to see people coming from the building,

"It's about time." I said and Devin followed my stare as it zeroed in on Ruby. Her hair was weaved into a singular plait and she was wearing a red blazer with black probably sleeveless gown that strapped by her knee with black heels. She was sporting a dark shade.
