"All right, let's go over the points again for extra clarity because if you leave here and you are still the same way you are now three months down the line then you hqve committed a crime. So, Number One is..." I was saying when I looked towards my audience and at that moment, I saw the woman who made me drive myself into work like a mad man. The woman who remains a puzzle to me. All these past months, I had tried all I could to plead with Julie to give me her address or contact or anything but she refused. I have prayed, cried to God, talked, tried even seeing another woman but No, she plagued me like a disease.

I raised my head properly to see the lady standing in front of me and it was indeed her. Oh my God! I already paused. I quickly look back to my gadget to see the number one point and started reeling off on it. In ten minutes, I was through, I stepped down from the podium as the audience applauded me. Some even stood up while they were at it. I went back to my seat.

I was supposed to be on my way for one last meeting of the day but I can't let Ruby slide out of my grasp again so I unlocked my iphone 7 and opened my email account then I sent a mail to my Secretary to reschedule the meeting imploring her to apologize on my behalf. That done, I sat back and waited till the end of the programme.

As the event ended, I had to exchange words and greetings with some top business men but I was watching Ruby through the corner of my eye, I watched her leave and I immediately excused myself from the group I was standing with and by the time I stepped out of the hall, I watched her enter a sky blue Toyota Car. I immediately went over to where my black Jeep was parked, my all purpose man, Devin was standing by the car and as I got into the back seat, he got in and started the car's engine,

"Devin, I need you to tail that sky blue car that just drove out now. Don't make it obvious, step on it please." With that, he put the car in motion. He let two cars be between us and Ruby then followed her route all through, I told him to slow down as she got to a big apartment complex building, we were at Brooklyn.

I told Devin to park outside the building and I watched Ruby drive into the garage provided for the residents of the building then I saw her walk into the building. I decided to take my time so that she won't suspect me and in this time, I removed my suit, rolled up my sleeves, removed my tie and slipped my phone into my pocket. Then I turned to Devin,

"Wait here for me. I will be right back."

Then I walked into the building, the receptionist is a lady,

"Good evening Miss..Wells." I greeted, looking at the nameplate on her desk.

"Yes? Mister...Mister King?" She asked as she really looked at me in shock,

"One and only." I grinned and she turned red,

"Oh, um, what can I do for you sir? We have..." She was about ranting off when I replied,

"Nope, I just need to see someone, she goes by the name Ruby Collins." I said then paused as her face went blank, then I asked,

"Do you know her? Her apartment number maybe?"

"Yes, yes, she stays at Phoenix 52. You just take the elevator to the 2nd floor, fourth room to the left on the corridor." She said eagerly,

"Okay dear, thank you." I said and she smiled and I moved ahead. I took the elevator and soon I was at the said door, I pressed the bell and I heard her voice ring out,

"Coming."

A second later, the door opened, she was saying before she looked up from her phone,

"Chloe, you didn't tell me...Oh!" She exclaimed with surprise crawling over her face as she held the door open.

"Hello, can I come in?" I asked and she answered me with questions,

"What? What are you doing here? How did you get here?"

"Did you think I was going to pretend I did not see you back at the hall and let you go? I followed you down here of course." I said,

"What do you want? Look, my husband will soon be back and I don't want any scuffle to happen." She replied tautly,

"He married you without wedding rings?" I asked amused that she would lie, it was written all over her face.

"W...well, I...I left my rings on the bed, you can see I am just arriving home." She stammered, trying to cover up. I stared at her as I let my finger trail her jaw and she visibly shivered,

"Ruby, you never cease to amaze me. You are the world's worst liar ever. Can I come in now?" I asked and she nodded as she stepped aside and I entered the apartment. I was greeted with a  mignonette fragrance and she stood by the door and pointed me to a sofa. I took the seat gracefully and she asked wringing her hands after closing her door,

"What would you like to take?"

"Anything you offer me." I said looking at her as she entered the room opposite the sitting room that had beaded curtain hiding the inside view. I used the opportunity to look around.
