|Chapter Twenty One|

     I was practically counting days till Saturday and of course Saturday arrived like any other day. I woke up early, called my all purpose man, Devin to go wash my car for me.

I am sure he must be wondering what's up with me because I only take my car out once in a while. The thing is I do not like to show off about being a wealthy personality.

Keeping my cool and not showing off is what I know how to do best but looking good is what I could not afford because right from my infant period, my parents drummed it into my ears that 'Looking good is good business'.

The drive to Ruby's apartment is just about fifteen minutes so I had a lot of time on my hands, I decided to go tidy and clean my apartment and make myself bacon and eggs with coffee to compensate my efforts for the morning.

After that, I settled down to watch a video. It lasted for forty five minutes. Then I looked at my wrist watch, it was already 11:30 a.m. I decided to go take my bath and dress up.

I already picked out my outfit for the day last night. I took my time to dress because my aim for the day is to look good. By the time I was through, I looked good enough to take a selfie for my Whatsapp Update. I captioned it, 'Looking good is good business.'

I collected my car keys from Devin and went to start my car. I drove slowly down to the apartment building Ruby was staying. I parked my car and went in, took the elevator and went to her floor. I announced my presence and Juliet opened the door,

"Come in."

"Thanks."

I went in, and my eyes sought the reason for my arrival here and I was mesmerized by the beauty I encountered.

Ruby is standing right here, she is on full makeup, her hair all pulled back, she was wearing a pink halter neck gown. I didn't even know when I said,

"Wow."

"While you guys are eye raping each other, let me get your shoes ma'am, sit on the chair and wait." Juliet said and she exited the room. Ruby moved to the chair and she said,

"Hi."

"Umm, hey, you look beautiful."

"It's just 'cause of the make-up and all. Julie has been playing fairy God-mother."

"It's not, even without the make-over you are beautiful inside out and that is Juliet's job as your friend to make you look and feel good when you do not want to." I said and she chuckled, Juliet came in and Ruby made to collect the shoes but Juliet said,

"No, sit back, let me help you put it on so you won't smear any of my masterpiece that is on your face."

"You are so silly." Ruby said laughing and I said without thinking,
"Let me do it."

"Sure." Juliet said and I collected the silver peep-toe heels from her and bent down in front of Ruby to strap her legs in on the heels. I was buckling the second shoe when I felt a flash across my face and Ruby shouted,

"Julie! Why did you do that?"

"Do not blame me, you guys look so cute together and I totally 'ship' you, hence the picture." Juliet said and I stood up and offered her my hand.

"Juliet, can you take a couple of pictures for us?" I asked,

"Ethan! What is wrong with you both?" Ruby asked as she tried to escape but between I and Juliet we managed to convince her that the camera won't bite and Juliet was happy to be our photographer for the day. I told her to send me the pictures on Whatsapp and she said,

"Right away."

With that, we were on our way after Ruby picked up her silver clutch. I led her out of the building and guided towards my car. I opened the door to the passenger seat for her and she stood looking at me,

"You...you have a car."

"Yeah, I just don't like driving around. I actually don't like calling attention to myself."

"I see." She muttered and entered. I adjusted her dress so it does not come in contact with the door then I got in through the other door and I started driving. We made small talks on our way and soon we were at the Hotel.

I parked my car at the farthest of the parking lot. The last thing I wanted is paparazzi knocking down my door. Ruby put on her sunglasses and I decided to copy her. I checked my car safe and brought a dark sunglass. I got out and went to open the car door for her. As she stepped down, I grabbed her knuckles and kissed it, she pulled her hands away and asked,

"Why would you do that?"

"Because I can. Come on, we are already running late." I said and closed the door and locked the car through the key then I took her hands in mine and walked in. The blue carpet was by the reception and so the interviewer assaulted us as we stepped in, I was surprised she guessed my name with my dark shades,

"Hello Mister King."

"Hello Laura, you are looking really beautiful."

"Oh Mister King, Thank you. You don't look bad yourself and who is this beautiful damsel with you?"

"She is a good friend of mine."

"I see. So, Mister King, what do you think of the Hotel, any expectation?"

"Lots of expectations but I think the Hotel is great, I love the structure and one of my major expectations is that it surpasses the branch at San Francisco."

"Let's hope it does. Can we take a picture?"

"Yeah sure." I said and I stood between Ruby and Laura as the Photographer clicked away. One picture and we were done. I led us both into the Launching Hall. As we entered, I scanned the large room for my parents and I spotted them talking to a Movie Director. Okay, let's get this intro done,

"Ruby, I need you to meet with some people before we sit down."

"Okay." She said and I guided her towards my parents. They had just finished talking to the Movie Director,

"Hello Dad, Mum."
