Scarletts POV

The stench hit me first as I headed into the bar. It was crowded as bodies thrust upon one another. Rock music playing as the crowd drank and chatted. A couple of people smiled in my direction as I recognized them from the shop.

This was their spot after a long day of oil changes and flat batteries, Scanning the place I try to find willow.

Someone taps me on the shoulder, and I couldn't help but raise my fist, my body on full alert.

"hey..hey it's just me" Eric yells holding up his hands. Willow had introduced me to Eric about a year ago. He was a good kid, always following Willow around like a lost puppy. He would do anything for that girl, and she knew it.

"sorry about that" I mutter slightly embarrassed, but you could never be too safe, especially if you're me.

"uhh have you seen Willow?" I asked.

"she actually told me to keep an eye out for you. She's over there.."

He points "..at the corner of the bar"

I throw a thanks over my shoulder as I make my way over to the end of the bar. Squeezing myself in between many bodies, I couldn't help but wonder.. do these people ever sleep?

Willow takes notice as I approach. With arms wide open she yells, "Hey! It's my baby!"

I couldn't help but smile as I take in her appearance. A helmet upon her head, while rocking tight leather jeans along with a black crop top. Her brown eyes sparkled with mischief, as she grabbed my hand.

"look Scarlett, its James, you know hot motorcycle Jamessss" she slurs.

"Willow, please shut up" I say squeezing her cheeks, while casting a glance at James, I mutter a quick hello.

"Willow told me you were going to be here tonight, which is why I decided to come." James Smiles showing his dimples. James was a regular at the bar, always bragging about the many bikes he owns. He was a rich kid trying to fit into a rough crowd. I was more interested in his bikes than I was in him, but I made the mistake of telling Willow I thought that he was cute.

"Well..I can tell you willow is full of shit, because I'm just here to pick her up and take her home" I say squeezing her cheeks painfully.

"Ow.. ow.. ow, Scarlett the face..watch the face." Willow wails, but I ignore giving her a scowl.

"Sorry James, but willow here is just wasting both of our time" I say releasing willow. She automatically begins rubbing her cheeks, making O like movements with her mouth.

"I don't think it's a waste at all actually" Again with those dimples. His lean body almost crowding me now. His expensive cologne filling my nostrils making it difficult to inhale.

"Actually it really is. You see James, I live my life on the wild side. Building walls, jumping gates, pretty much like your typical hell. Getting involved with me will probably get you killed, if not bore you to death, so I assure you this is a waste of time." I end that off with a big smile.

"Uhm..well, okay. I guess ill see you around willow" James says hurriedly, giving me a funny look.

Not understanding that I literally just saved his life, but if he took it as me being a bitch, than I can live with that.

"what the hell Scarlett!!?? You said he was cute" Willow exclaims. Pointing in the direction of a fleeing James.

"Yeah I said cute, I didn't ask you to set me up with him" I explain.

"well..what the hell did you mean by cute than, huh? cause when I say a guy is cute, I hope to actually get with said cute guy. ugh.. I swear Scarlett you are going to die a virgin if you don't ...."

I couldn't hear the rest of her words, because I felt them. Their eyes staring into the back of my head. The hairs on my arms stood, as I froze.

Silas.

Casting a quick look to my left, I spotted three men seated at a table. All wearing black staring at me and Willow. Their eyes shielded by black sunglasses, but I could still feel their gaze.

Fuckers caught up.

Count to 10, and relax. Think about what to do next. An escape.

The back exit was located beyond the bathroom. I give it 200 meters, about 2 minutes 36 seconds.

Grabbing Willows hand, I dash towards the bathroom. Looking behind me, the table that once seated the men was empty.

"Fuck" I mutter as I pick up my pace.

"Scarlett what the hell is going?" Willow asks trying to catch up. There's no time to answer. There is no time to waste whenever Silas is involved, only time to escape.

Arriving to the exit I open the back doors, going straight for my bike. Jumping on, while Willow attempts to buckle up her helmet.

"Get on" I bark at her, not intending to scare her, but they are here, and there is no time. Willow jumps on, and as prepare to speed off, I halt. The three men from the bar stand by the dumpster looking at me. Not attempting to move..they just stare.

This was worse than them running after me. To sit and figure out their motives would give them an advantage, with a curse, I speed off.

"what the hell was that?" Willow asks as we enter my apartment. I reach for my pack with shaky hands, lighting a cigarette as quick as possible.

"..Scarlett?"

Count to ten and figure it out. They didn't follow me after, they just stood there staring, but why?

A new strategy maybe?

To freak me out...make me go crazy...maybe then I'll surrender? Fuck, I don't know.

"Is it Silas?" Willow asks. I told her about everything 2 years into our friendship. I knew she was someone I could trust. Someone I was able to open up to, before my heart blew up. She never judged nor saw me any different, well..when she did see my eyes she thought they were pretty cool, "Hot as shit" her words to be exact, but I was forced to put back on my brown lenses when she became too obsessed with it.

"He was gone for a while. How stupid of me to think he would let me go" I say laughing weakly.

Willow comes to sit beside me on the couch, wearing a worried look.

she gently began caressing my arm, as I soon began to relax. Telling me I would get through this, and that eventually he will give up and leave me alone.

But something was off. It was different this time.

Before they would run and run after me until at a certain point I would lose them. They never knew where I lived, I always made sure to be one step ahead with creating detours, and figuring out all information of every location within this city.

I had it all down, all buildings, alleys, boroughs, MTA timing,

Hell.. if a dog took a shit on the sidewalk I would know about it. I learned a lot over the years.

I had to survive.

But tonight...

A whisper of the night told me that something horrible is bound to happen.
