Meet Ren, the second-place winner of Pictorial!
1. How long have you been an artist?
I've been an artist since I learned to draw! ;) Nah, but I started actually taking art classes in 6th grade when I was 11.
2. How long since you've been drawing Warriors?
I've been drawing Warriors since I started reading the series, in 6th grade, I believe. Or perhaps 7th. It's been a while!3. What do you focus on in your art?
As far as art teqniques go, I focus on shading and texture the most. I love giving my art personality and life. When it comes to theme, I focus on diversity and character emotions when portrayng them.4. Do you prefer drawing canon characters, non-canon, or a mix?
I usually draw non-canon characters, like OCs and stuff. But occasionally I'll draw a canon character every once and a while. I've been designing a few DOTC as humans lately. ;35. Do you have any specific inspirations when you draw?
I'm usually insprired by a feeling that I have, whether extremely negative or extremely positive, and I integrate it into my art. I often find nature as a frequent muse, and the people I love. I draw people A LOT.6. Are there any tips you'd like to tell aspiring artists?
PRACTICEEEEEE. Like, literally, it makes a HUGE difference. Also, study other artists' work. It's okay to steal a bit of someone's style if it helps you figure out your own way of creating something, as long as it's not stealing the actual art. And use reference pictures. Also, I learned to draw cats by finding fan art and copying it until I got the anatomy and stule down, then I focused on my own style. Some of SilverfrostXxX's work
