"See you later." I said to Adrien. We had reached the top of the stairs in the front of the school. Chloe wasn't here yet, I had to go home and do homework.

"Can you wait with me please." He begged.

"I told you, I don't need to be here."

You're treating him like me, no one should suffer like this!

"Please." He clasped his hands together. I frowned.

"Fine." I plopped down on the stairs and pulled out homework.

"Why can't you face her alone?" I asked. He sat next to me.

"I can." I stopped.

"Then why am I here?!"

"I want you here." He smiled. I made a face and began doing my homework.

"I see." I did a couple of problems before something came to mind. "After we fought...people were saying you were..."

"I was what?"

"A robot." With a pretty face.

"Well, uh..."

"Was that because of me?" He was quiet. "Was it?"

"Adrikins!" We both turned. Chloe was half-running to us. I think she'd gone to re-apply her makeup. She was probably nice, but she always had her guard up. I realized we both did the same thing and I tried building my comfort around that thought.

"I should go." I said. I put my stuff away and got up.

"See you guys." Chloe didn't wave back but Adrien did. He smiled at me one last time before I turned and walked off.

"I think he likes you." I looked at Ami.

"I don't think so."

"He makes such a big deal out of anything involving you."

"All that does is worry me." I replied. He flew over to my work.

"Do you care about him?" Ami asked. I continued my work.

"That's difficult to answer."

"How? It's either yes or no." He replied. I gave him a look.

"I don't want to complicate whatever we have." I said.

"You don't even know what it is."

"I don't," I set my pencil down and leaned back in my chair. Now that I wasn't answering a question or trying to learn...all my other problems surfaced.

What did I think of Adrien?

Was it right to let him and Chloe hang out?

"You regretting anything yet?"

"Maybe."

"People are so vain."

"You too." I said. Ami was right. Whoever Ladybug was had used her powers to get me away from Adrien. For her own personal use.

Heroes are people.

And people are vain.
