*memory*

"I love you Ruby!" His jet black hair fell slightly across his face as he left gentle kisses on my forehead. Our bodies buzzed as we laid next to each other in the field of tall grass and sunflowers.

"How can you feel that way about me?" I smiled at him as I rolled onto my side. "We just started dating!"

He matched my movement and rolled onto his side so that he was mere inches away from my face. His black eyes twinkled as he grinned at me. "Cause you're perfect!"

I blushed in response and smiled. He cupped my chin and pulled me in for a kiss. I had been warned not to date an older man but I couldn't resist him! Every girl and woman within his eye sight drooled over him. Maybe it was his bad boy edge that wooed me and had my friends telling me it wasn't right. But I didn't care. He was mine and I was falling hard for him.

I opened my eyes to be met by Daryl's blue orbs. My eyes wandered around the room to find everyone was inside and chatting over dinner. Slowly I sat up and stretched out my back while Daryl cleaned his arrow tips.

"Why didn' ya tell me yer damn name?"

"I didn't think it was important." I groaned while I cracked my back.

"Yer one stubborn girl let me tell ya that!"

"And you're not any different?" I leaned forward on my elbows, putting my weight on my knees.

Daryl glared at me,"You know nothin'!"

"Well sadly I do know some things Daryl," I slid out the necklace my dad gave me when I turned twelve which had a red R, and a black heart charm. "If I didn't know anything I'd be good as dead by now."

Daryl noticed the necklace and muttered. "Poor man."

"You would think so." I muttered back. He mumbled and handed me a water cantina. I took a swig of the refreshing water which soothed my aching throat.

"Don't tell me you've never been in love? You must know how it feels." I handed him back the cantina.
Daryl snatched the cantina from my hand and pointed a finger in my face, "It's none of yer damn business girly now stop gettin' in my head!"

"Okay first off I ain't no 'girl'. I'm twenty five years old so you can call me miss." I pointed my index finger into his chest.

"Okay.. Missy." He chuckled at my unamused expression.

"I just set my self up there didn't I?" I said more to myself.

Chuckling he said, "Ye damn well did Missy."

I rolled my eyes at him. Our conversation must have been amusing as Maggie, Carl, Rick and a few others sat closer.

"Thank you again for the hospitality. If I weren't looking for my family I could see myself staying in this group of yours! It actually seems like my kinda crowd." I admitted. Rick nodded his head at me in a respectful way.

"Did you ever bump into other groups?" Maggie asked.

"I did but the ones I bumped into were mostly alcoholics trying to forget what the real problem is. Well.. except a few."

"How many did ya bump into?" Glenn, I had learned was Maggie's husband, asked curiously.

"Too much." I simply responded.

"How many?" Carol, a middle aged woman, asked lightly.

"Eight or nine. They all ranged in different sizes."

"What were they like?" Daryl scanned my face.

"They were something else! It's a long story." I finished awkwardly trying not to shudder at the memories of the of living hell I was put through.
