^^^^Hello again peeps. Another unscheduled update, but I couldn't stand leaving anyone hanging on all that. So here it is. :) ^^^^^
The next hour passed extremely slowly. Only Landon had gotten up and moved around the waiting room in a helpless pace, and Kurtis had only moved over so he could wrap Anna into his side again. She was more than thankful for the warm contact considering how she had felt like she as sitting in a deep freeze.
She leaned her head against his shoulder and clutched his free hand in his lap. He gripped her back and laid his head down on her head, the bandanna she was wearing more suitable as a pillow anyways. Anna didn't know when she passed out from exhaustion but when the doctor came though the automated sliding door, she found herself partially curled up on the couch, cuddling close into kurtis's side.
"Everyone's okay," The doctor said with excitement. Anna rocketed off the couch with Kurtis following suit as Landon almost tackled the doctor. They huddled around him for details.
"Your wife are under heavy sedation from surgery and to calm her pulse, and your child needs to be incubated for a few days, but both are going to make it," He said with a smile as he clapped Landon on the shoulder. The relief and the hand almost sent Landon to the floor. Anna and Kurtis rushed to his sides to keep him on the feet with relieved laughs.
"Wha....What is it," Landon asked nervously as he shook with relief.
The doctor smiled at him proudly. "You have a daughter."
Anna and Kurtis cheered as Landon fell to his knees and began to sob. Anna laughed as she knelt down beside him and hugged him tightly.
"Congrats Dad," She joked as Landon cried his joy into her shoulder. She held onto him as they began to rock back and forth.Landon finally snapped out of it and nearly knocked Anna over as he jumped to his feet.
"Can I see my wife?" He asked in panic. When the doctor nodded, he rushed past him into the OR. The doctor gave a small roll of his eyes to Anna and Kurtis as he laughed his way back into the OR to direct Landon.
"That doctor obviously revels in his good turn outs," Anna laughed as Kurtis helped her off the floor.
"Let's go home," He chuckled as he wrapped an arm around her waist to lead her out.
"Actually we have one more thing we need to do before we can go to bed," Anna yawned as they headed for the SUV.
They walked back into the laughing squid bistro's back door and stared at the chaos they had left. Anna tried her hardest to not notice the blood pooling on the floor around the stool. She sighed and headed into their chemical room and began to fill the mop bucket.
When she returned with it, Kurtis handed her a beer.
"Thanks," She mumbled and almost drank it dry before she wrung out the mop head.
