I had an instinct. I took a chance. I closed the distance between us and crashed my lips onto his. He was surprised, but then his lips soften. He kissed me back. He smiled and I smiled. We broke apart and he looked at me. “Wow,” He said. “Yeah,” I said. “You know, it’s going to take a lot more than that to get his boy.” He smirked. I frowned at him and he winked. He skipped out of the room. He was one weird kid.

I sat on the beach, tanning, when Cody decided to come join me. “We should go for a swim.” He said. “I think I’ll just sit here and read Vogue.” I said, flipping the page of the magazine. “Suit yourself.” He said and pulled off his shirt dramatically. I couldn’t help but peek. He was mighty fine.

“Enjoying the view?” He smirked. I looked back down at my magazine. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I said. I couldn’t help but giggle. Cody jogged into the water, dramatically of course, and started trying to look cool swimming. I couldn’t help but laugh. I put down my magazine and he shouted, “You know you want to come in!” I laughed and shook my head. Two could play at this game.

Cody ran out of the water toward me and scooped me up. “Cody!” I screamed, “Put me down.” He slung me over his shoulder and took me down to the water. He threw me in and I came up. “You are so dead!” I laughed and jumped at him. I tried to dunk him but he was too strong. He took me by the wrists and kissed me. I kissed him back and ripped my hand free and punched him in the stomach. I ran away and he grabbed me around the waist. He lifted me up and threw me back in the water. He ran away as I came back up. I ran after him and tackled him. I was on top of him and he flipped us over so he was on top. “I win,” He smirked. I pouted. “You know you want me.” He smirked. “Not a chance.” I smirked back and pushed him off of me. I got up and walked back over to my stuff. Same old Cody.

“This is our house?!?!” I screamed when we stepped inside our new house. “Yes, honey.” My parents chuckled. “Oh my God! Where’s my room?!” I ran up the stairs. “Last door on the right!” My mom yelled. I opened the door at the end of the hall on the the right and saw the most amazing room ever. It was light blue with it’s own gigantic bathroom and closet. There was even a balcony, like in my old room! I looked out to see an amazing beach and a pool below my balcony. I could get used to this.

“Nice place you got here.” I heard Cody say behind me. I turned around to see Cody holding chocolate chip muffins. “Hi, I’m Cody, your new neighbor. I made you some house-warming muffins.” He smiled. “Hi, Cody. I’m Kiara.” I stuck out my hand. I giggled as we shook hands. He handed me the muffins. “These smell amazing.” I smiled. “I baked them with lots of love.” He smiled. “Awe. You’re so sweet.” I said, “Look at my view!” I pulled him onto the balcony. “Wow. This is beautiful.” He said. He pulled out his phone and took a picture of us in front of the view. “How cute am I?” He said. “Not cute at all.” I smirked then took a bite of a muffin. “I’m taking these back,” He said, pulling the muffin out of my hand. “Give me back my muffins!” I said. Cody held them above his head and I tried to jump up and grab them. No such luck. “Say sorry.” He said. “I’m sorry! Now give me my muffins!” I said. “Thank you,” He gave me the muffins back. I grabbed the one I had been eating and shoved it in my mouth. “You are such a child.” He said. I swallowed and stuck my tongue out at him.

“Alli!” I said excitedly. “Kiara!” She ran up and hugged me. “I haven’t seen you in months!” She said. “I know! I missed you!” I said. “I love your house!” She said. “Want a tour?” I asked. “Yes! I need to know my way around my second home!” She said. After I gave her a tour, Alli said, “Let’s hit the beach!” Alli said. We went down to the beach and a group of girls came up to us, asking for autographs.

“Oh my God! You’re Kiara West!” one said. “Yeah,” I chuckled. I signed stuff for them too. Alli was signing the girls Pastries, so I talked to some of the girls. “What are you doing in LA? I thought you lived in Australia.” one said to me. “I live in LA now.” I smiled at her. “Oh my God! You are so lucky!” another said. “Yeah,” I smiled at them. “I saw you dancing on Twitter! You are amazing!” Another girl said. “You did? Thank you!” I said. “Hey girls, we have to get going. It was great to meet all of you.” Alli said, pulling me toward the sand.

“Have you seen the newest issue of Tiger Beat?” Alli asked me when we sat down on our beach towels. “No... Why?” Alli reached into her bag and pulled out Tiger Beat. She flipped to a page and set it in front of me. I looked at it and saw a picture of me and Cody. It was us on the beach and kissing in the water. The title was “Cody and Kiara back on?” I skimmed the article. “Wow. How do they know this stuff?” “I have no idea,” Alli said, “Sometimes, it’s really creepy how they know this stuff.” There was a picture timeline at the bottom of the page. There was a picture from last summer when me and Cody started dating. Then there was me at the Coast to Coast release party. Then it skipped to him and Kylie dating. Finally, there was us leaving the hospital on Valentines Day, holding hands. The article said that eye-witnesses saw us “acting very in love and kissing.” Stupid Hollywood. I sighed. I was above this stuff. “Whatever. It’s not true anyway.” I said, putting the magazine back in Alli’s bag.

“Wait, what?! You guys aren’t dating?!” She said. “Nope,” I said, popping the P. “Then why are you guys being all lovey?” “Well, technically, we are dating, but he hasn’t asked yet.” “Girl, you ask him!” “Uh, have you ever heard of chivalry?” I said. “Yeah, but this is 2012! Feminism all the way!” “Cody is superbly chivalrous, so I’ll talk to him about it.” “Okay, want to go into the water?” Alli asked. “Sure!”

“Hey how was your photo shoot?” I asked Cody when I sat down on his couch. “Good, I guess.” He sat next to me. He patted his lap and I sat on him. I put my head on his shoulder. His arm came around my waist. I giggled. “You are so adorable.” He smiled. I blushed. “So, I want to ask you something.” He said. “Okay.” I said. “How about we give us another try?” He said, looking me in the eyes. “Sure,” I said, melting inside at his beautiful eyes. He smiled at me and I smiled back. I was so smitten with this boy. He leaned in and we were about to kiss when Tom ran into the room.

“Hey guy-” He started to say. We turned to him and he ran out of the room. “Mum! Cody and Kiara were going to kiss!” I heard him yell. We both laughed and he leaned back in. We kissed and I smiled through the kiss. When we broke apart, I leaned back on his shoulder. He turned on the TV and we watched a movie. I ended up falling asleep. I felt Cody pick me up and carry me home. “Goodnight, angel.” He said as he tucked me into bed. He kissed me on the forehead. I drifted off into sweet dreams.
