"What profit is the image,
that its maker should
carve it,
The molded image, a teacher
of lies,
That the maker of its mold
should trust in it,
To make mute idols?
Woe to him who says to
wood,
'Awake!'
To silent stone, 'Arise! It.
shall teach!'
Behold, it is overlaid with
gold and silver,
Yet in it there is no breath at
all."But the LORD is in His holy
temple.
Let all the earth keep
silence before
Him."
Habakkuk 2:18-21This passage explains how the LORD feels about idols and idolatry. God is the living God, and the idols are mute. He is alive and in His holy temple.
But can't the image be applied to today's society - Why do we have mirrors? Can a mirror tell us what is on the inside of a person?
God wants us to take care of our body, but He doesn't like pride. He created us differently for a reason, and He has given us different talents. Remember King David - God sees what is in the heart. Tell Him that you love Him.The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Please read your Bible.
