"Welcome home," I chuckled gently squeezing Maddy's hip. "Thanks love," she smiled grabbing my hand. "We have about two hours before the boys get off of school." I lifted Elliot from her car seat. "What do you want to do?" I cuddled the little girl against my chest. "I don't care," she shrugged. "HI baby," Maddy gently took her from me and went to sitting on the couch. "I've missed being home." she sighed. "It sucks spending all of your time in a hospital." she pouted cuddling against Elliot. "Well I don't like being away from you," I lifted her onto my lap cuddling my two girls against me. "So I guess it sucks for both of us." I kissed her cheek. "I love coming home to you." She smiled. Soon her lips were against mine. Something I haven't seen happen in a while happened. Maddy's work phone rang. "I'm sorry babe, I gotta take this." she sighed handing me Elliot, I simply nodded waving her away to take the call. "It's good." I listened to her. "But I cant go now, what about my family?" she emphasized. "My son leaves next week," she groaned impatiently. "I'll work from the toronto desk and I'll come to calI for part of my kids' christmas brake but I can't just leave them." she sighed looking back out at me and giving me an apologetic look. "Alright bye," she hung the phone up impatiently. "I'm sorry baby I have to go into Toronto and fix whatever it is that going on in the office in LA." her hand gripped mine. "I'm sorry," she pouted looking down at me. "It's ok, I of all people understand, I have a weird job too." I chuckled puckering my lips as she gave me a sweet kiss. "I'll see you guys later," she paused. "And I promise I'll call if I'm gonna be late."she pulled her hand away from mine running up the stairs to change. "Maybe we can surprise her at the office." I whispered to Elliot even though I knew she probably didn't care. "I'm sorry Shawn," she pouted at me. "It's alright Maddy." I smiled up at her, she slipped on some heels. "Bye love." I smiled leaning up to kiss her. "Bye darling." she planted a soft kiss on my lips. "I love you," she smiled. "I love you too." I pecked her cheek before sending her off in the jeep that we still kept for times like this. "We have to go pick up your brothers." I sighed looking at Elliot. "But we've got a little time." I kissed her forehead. "It's just you and me princess," I ran my hands threw the small amount of hair that she had on her head. "But it's alright." I smiled cuddling her gently. "Hey Shawn," Aaliyah smiled walking in. "No Jackson?" I gasped. "Yeah he had a meeting." she nodded. "Wheres Maddy I thought she came home today?" she looked around confused. "She did and then she had to go to work." I chuckled. "So we're both left alone." she chuckled finding the situation so hilarious. Ellie let out a wail. "Ok the three of us," she chuckled at my daughter. "So?" she sat next to me. "I'm assuming you're gonna go 'surprise' Maddy at the office even though she probably already knows you're coming because you do this every time she has work." She smiled knowingly. "Yeah I was gonna bring the kids over. Why is that too cliché?" I bit my lip. "Well I mean maybe for a normal couple but you two base your whole relationship off of sappy cliché and cheesy gestures so," she trailed on. "Shut up we're happy." I rolled my eyes. "I have to go pick up the boys anyways." I chuckled standing up. "I'll be home soon." I smiled at her while laying Elliot in her car seat. "See you in a bit." I walked out the door, I gently set her car seat in the car clipping it in and assuring it was secure before hopping into the front seat and driving towards the boys' school. "Daddy," Masson smiled happily jumping on my leg. "HI buddy," I lifted him onto my hip. "Where's mommy?" He pouted looking all confused. "She had to go to work. But we'll go by and see her after." I smiled kissing his cheek. "HI dad," Evan walked up. "HI Evan. Where's your brother?" I raised an eyebrow. "He's over there." He pointed towards Easton and Owen who slowly made their way towards us. "HI dad," Owen ran up. "HI Owen." I smiled ruffling both of the boys' hair. "Where mom?" All three of them questioned. "She had to go to work. Wanna go see her?" I smiled. "Yeah," they nodded frantically making me chuckle. "Alright," I smiled leading them towards the car while punching Elliot in the stroller. "You guys can't be too loud in her building alright?" We drove into Toronto which was not to far but it wasn't close either. "Yes daddy," Masson nodded. "Yes dad," the others followed. "And you all have to stay with me." I nodded making sure it was clear. "Alright dad," this time the older boys led and Masson followed. "Good," I nodded as we continued our drive. After about half an hour of driving we arrived at her building. "Alright let's go," I smiled stopping the car and letting the boys out. I took Elliot's stroller from the trunk and attached her car seat. "HI Shawn," the secretary smiled. "She's in her office," she nodded at my unspoken question. "Shall I let her know you're going up?" She smiled looking up from the computer screen. "No, we wanna surprise her." I smiled thanking her as we walked towards her office. "That room," I pointed at the glass double doors. They weren't see through so she had some privacy. And the walls were soundproof. "You can go in," I smiled pointing. Masson ran towards the door but waited for the rest of us before he pushed it open. "No you listen to me." she growled into her phone. "The office is going to be shut down for the time being, no ifs ands or buts." She groaned loudly. "No, I haven't seen my kids all week and now here I am another day without them because you can't figure out the right keys." she sighed. "Just try and figure this out, I'll shut down the office for two hours until it's sorted but I need you to call me as soon as it is." she hung her phone up. "Mommy," Masson shrieked excitedly as she finished her call." Hi baby," she sighed of relief kneeling down to give him a hug. "They wanted to come see you," I blushed slightly. "Well I'm glad you came." she smiled hugging the three older boys. "How was school." she smiled slowly walking towards me. "Good," Masson nodded. "Eh," Evan shrugged. "Science is hard," he pouted. "Well you know what." she smirked looking up at me. "Your daddy used to love science." she smiled. "Really?" he gasped. "I'll help you later alright?" I smiled lifting Elliot. "Alright." he nodded. "How about you?" she smiled at Owen. "It was alright but I don't like math." he whined. "You know who's really good at math?" I smiled. "Who?" he furrowed his eyebrows. "Your mom and uncle madds." I smiled. "Will you help me mommy?" he pouted. "Of course I will." she nodded. "How about you Easton? Anything exciting happen today?" she smiled. "Not really," he shrugged. "Alright then." she chuckled. her phone rang again. "Want us to go?" I smiled sympathetically at her. "You guys can stay if you want." She nodded. "Alright," I nodded. She walked over to the other side of the office as the boys played with her chair, I watched them all and cuddle Elliot. soon she hung up her phone and walked back over. "what do you guys wanna do now?" she smiled at them. "I don't care." they shrugged still seeming very fascinated by the chair. Easton took pictures from her window as we were so high above the city. "Nice place Maddy," My dad smiled. "Gran gramps." the kids all smiled running towards them. "Hi boys." they smiled hugging them. "We figured we'd take them out for a bit and give you two some time alone because we know you don't get very much of that anymore." My mom chuckled. "That's really nice of you guys but you don't have to." Maddy smiled. "No, no dear we want to." my mom nodded. "Thank you so much." she smiled. "We'll even take the little one." they smiled taking Elliot from my arms. "Alright thank you." she smiled once again. "Don't worry about it dear." they smiled. "Thanks mom, thanks dad." I smiled. "Don't worry about it. We'll even keep them till tomorrow if you want." she smiled sending my dad to go and get the kids into the car. I had given them the keys to the van as Aaliyah dropped them off on her way to get Addison from daycare. "Now go out and have fun." she smiled hugging us both before walking out and shutting the door. "I love your parents." she smiled. "They're your parents too you know." I chuckled. "Yeah but only because i'm married to you." she chuckled. "Same difference." I rolled my eyes. Once again her phone rang and she groaned before giving me an apologetic look. "Take it." I smiled. "What now?" she sighed. "Well why isn't it fixed?" she sounded very impatient. "All I can give you is another hour." she sighed. "Fix it." she hung up the phone. I walked behind her placing my hands on her shoulders. "Wanna talk about it?" I rubbed her shoulders. "You seem very stressed, Come tell me what's wrong?" I pouted. "Someone printed the wrong thing and now the magazines gonna be delayed, plus they added the wrong things into the article." she sighed. "If we print it and send it out like that then it won't be right and the whole company will be in jeopardy." she sighed. "Are you done here?" I gently kissed her neck and jawline. "Yeah I just have to send out a text in an hour." She shrugged. "Alright well come on, I wanna do something with you." I kissed her jaw. "Like what?" she bit her lip as my hands gently squeezed her shoulders as I planted yet another kiss on her jaw. "You'll see." I smirked
