"Boys wake up!" I knocked at each of there doors, while Maddy took it upon herself to care for Elliot as we usually alternated. Mornings being Ellie's worst part of the day. "Dad," Easton groaned. "It's a weekend," his whine never dulled. "I know but you've gotta get up, we have an interview today." I sat on the edge of his bed. "Ugh!" he groaned finally sitting up. "We're dressed daddy," the twins smiled walking in. "Good job boys, wanna teach East how to listen?" I mumbled the last part knowing they would take it literally. "Go downstairs and help your aunt Aaliyah." I pointed as they nodded skipping away. "I'll be back as soon as I'm done with Masson you'd better be up by then," I pointed walking out. "Ugh!" he groaned again. I chuckled walking towards masons room knocking gently on the door. "Mass wake up?" I slowly let the door squeak open before turning on the lights. "Masson, baby you've got to wake up." I sat on the bed next to him watching a small smile form on his lips as he thought he was fooling me into thinking he was still asleep. "I guess there's nothing I could do to wake him up." I teased standing and pretending to walk away. "He'll just stay home all by himself when we go to the interview." I shrugged walking towards the door. "Wait daddy I'm awake," he sprung up from his position on the bed. "Good," I chuckled lifting him off of the ground. I peppered his skin with kisses making him scream, "Daddy! Stop it." he giggled. "What do you wanna wear today?" I carried him towards his closet. "What are you wearing?" he leaned is head against my shoulder. "Jeans and a T-shirt," I shrugged. "Ok then thats what I wanna wear." he smiled. "Alright here you go," I handed him a pair of his jeans before setting him on the floor and walking towards his dresser to find him a T-shirt. "Thanks daddy," he smiled slipping into his clothes. "Now go downstairs I think you mommy and aunt Aaliyah might need help." I pointed as he nodded and ran away. "Easton," I walked into his room. "Can't you leave me with uncle Matt or something. I'd be perfectly fine if I didn't go," he slowly sat up. "I know but you have to come." I put my hand on his back. "You know when you were little you used to always want to come with us to these interviews because you hated it when we left you with anyone." I chuckled. "And when you were about four years old, I played Maddison Square Garden for the first time." I smiled. "You were never more excited for anything. And for your birthday that year your mom and I had bought you a little guitar and you brought it and even before the show started you were onstage strumming the guitar you were so excited." I laughed thinking. "We still have the recording of it. We keep it in a safe with a video camera that we used whenever something important happened in your life." I pulled him closer to me. "When you were five we took you for the first time on an interview," The memory made me smile. "I have never seen you so," I paused trying to find the right word. "So lively." I finished. "Just come do this interview with your three younger brothers and you baby sister so the world can understand that even if we aren't the perfect family that we are happy because whether you want to admit it or not you love us." I chuckled. "You love them a lot more than you'll ever tell anyone and if you go today I think that they might finally understand that their older brother isn't a complete waist of space." I teased. "Fine," he trudged towards his closet and started picking out his clothes. "I hate it when you're right." He mumbled throwing some clothes at his bed. "Come downstairs when your ready," I chuckled walking into our room. I chuckled seeing Maddy had already picked out my clothing and left them on the bed. Quickly I slipped into the outfit I told Masson I would wear before running down the stairs. "Morning," I smiled at everyone. "Morning," they all replied. "So Aaliyah you and addi are going with Matt?" I grabbed a cup and poured myself some coffee. "Yup," she nodded. "Morning darling," Maddy walked down the stairs holding Elliot. "Morning love," gently I kissed her lips leaving all of the boys disgusted. "I've got her," I took Elliot from Maddy's arms holding her against my shoulder. "She's still tired," Maddy pouted. "Yeah," I pouted looking down at Elliot. "You look tired," I gently hugged her. "So boys," Maddy beamed. "You excited? it's your first interview, well for everyone except you east." she smiled. "Yeah," the twins shoved more food into their faces. "Me too, does it mean I get to be like daddy?" He stopped eating for a few seconds looking at Maddy with hopeful eyes. "Yeah baby. That's what daddy does." she smiled taking simply a piece of toast and bitting into it. "Ok now I'm excited," he gushed continuing to eat his food. I smiled at how much my children wanted to be like me. "We should head out." Maddy checked the time. "Bye uncle Shawn bye aunt Maddy." Addison hugged our legs running back towards her mom. "Bye Addi," we smiled. "Bye guys," Aaliyah waved. "Bye Aaliyah." we waved back. still i held Elliot in my arms. "Come on boys. lets go get your shoes on." Maddy led therm away leaving me and Elliot. "Hi princess." her eyes widened. "You alright?" i chuckled at her expression. "Shawn honey?" Maddy called walking into the kitchen. "come on darling we're gonna be late." her hand reached for mine. "Lets go," i nodded gripping her hand firmly. "You can handle Elliot and Easton, I'll take the twins and Masson." she nodded leading them towards the car. "Whats the interview gonna be like?" Easton helped me with Elliot. "I'm not too sure, but if they ask or do something you don't like let me know." I winked nudging him gently. "Dad," he rolled his eyes. "Don't sass me," I teased. "This is gonna be a long day," he walked ahead of me and towards Maddy and the boys at the car, where she unlocked the doors and helped Masson in. Her and I met at the front of the car as we needed to switch sides considering I was driving and she wasn't. "Hi lovely," I grabbed her arm pulling her closer to me. "Hi sweet pea," she leaned up gently kissing my lips. "Should we do that during the interview?" she pulled back. "Just to annoy the boys." I smirked. "Just to annoy the boys," she nodded. "We'll see," i winked letting her go. "You guys are so gross." East whined as we got into the car. "We could get a lot worse, just ask your grandpa or aunt Summer." Maddy chuckled. "So you're all gonna be on your best through the behaviour?" Maddy looked at them through the rear view mirror. "Yes mom," East nodded making the other boys follow. "Yes mommy," they nodded as well. "And there will be no roughhousing or anything like that right?" Her voice was stern, she didn't mess around when it came to the boys behavior even though she knew that they would be good. "Yes mom," Easton nodded yet again. "Yes mommy," the other boys nodded. "Ok," she nodded at them. "Now you guys," Easton looked between the two of us. "Will you please not be super weird and gross on television?" Easton begged. "We'll see," I smirked. "I'm begging you, my friends are gonna watch this. Please dot embarrass me." He pleaded. "We'll do our best." Maddy cut me off. "What do we have to do?" Evan looked up from his toy. "I don't know, we'll find out when we get there." I shrugged leaving them all very curious and excited as to whats gonna happen. "We'll be there soon enough," Maddy answered their unspoken question. "Ok," the twins went back to playing. "You're cute," I squeezed her hand. "So are you," she smiled. "Are we there?" Masson whined. "Yeah actually, its right there." I pointed towards the building in front of us. "Cool," Owen gasped looking towards the building. "It's really big." he stared an awe making both Maddy and I laugh. "Yeah it is isn't it." I smiled. "He's just like you." I chuckled at Maddy. "Shut up." she rolled her eyes. "Ok ok," I chuckled pulling up to the back entrance. "Best behaviour." Maddy warned as I stopped the car getting out. she walked towards where Masson sat and I walked towards Elliot. "Come on boys," she lifted Masson. "Be careful it's still a road." she shrieked pulling the twins back as a big black truck came ripping through. Three secuity guards walked towards it. "Are you guys alright?" she rightly hugged the two seven year old boys. "Mhm," they nodded hugging their mother back. She wasmore scared than the kids were. "Come here," Easton knelt in front of them. "You have to be more careful." He hugged the town kids. "We know," they sighed. "Mom already told us." They looked towards Maddy who I held against my chest. "Your ok." I soothed. "I'm sorry mommy." the two boys ran towards her. "It's ok. It's not your fault." she kissed their heads. "I'm sorry daddy," they walked towards me. "You have to be more careful." i sighed. "But your moms right it wasn't your fault." I hugged them as Maddy took Elliot's car seat from my hand. "Let's go inside before anything else happens." I kissed their foreheads staring up still holding onto their hands. Maddy was still very shaken up. Easton held onto Masson's hand. "They're alright." I watched them follow the security guards to the stage. "That was too close Shawn." Her hands still shook. "I know baby but they're ok and that's all that matters." I reassured. "I know," She finally started calming down. "Next we have the whole mendes family stay tuned." with that it went to comercial and we were led onto the stage. "You boys ready?" Maddy smiled. "Yeah," they nodded. "Good," she fixed the twins hear as well as Eatson's. "Mom," he whined. "Masson?" she brought him closer running her fingers through his hair. "There you go," she sat him down on my lap and began brushing her fingers through my hair. "Maddy," I chuckled. "Sorry force of habit." she blushed. "Should I take Ellie out of her seat?" she set it on the floor in front of her. "Sure," I nodded. she lifted the blanket revealing a perfectly awake Elliot. "Oh." Maddy giggled. "Well hello there," she lifted her up. "Can I hold her?" East bit his lip. "Of corse," Maddy smiled making him sit farther back in the chair. "Here," she laid our baby girl in his arms. "Wanna come sit with me?" she smiled at the twins. "Ok," they nodded sitting on her lap as she kissed their heads. "We're back with our special guests." she smiled at us. "Let's see if I can get this right." she looked at all of the kids. "That's Easton," she pointed. "Holding Elliot, and that's Masson." she pointed to Masson. "And I know I'm gonna get this wrong," she shook her head. "Owen and Evan?" She pointed to them both in the wrong order. "Nope," they shook their heads. "But don't feel bad our parents don't always get it right all of the time either." They giggled. "So Shawn Maddy," she smiled. "What's it like? four boys and now a little girl." She beamed. "It's different." Maddy shrugged. "We love all of our kids but they can be a bit of a handfull." I chuckled. "Especially when I'm alone." Maddy breathed. "You leave her and five kids?" the audience gasped. "Never for very long and the onl time he ever leaves he brings at least one of the kids with him." she reassured. "Oh I thought you meant he'd just dissapear and leave you with all of the kids." she placed her hand on her heart. "Because if that was the case then you're a real trooper." she sighed. "I have been alone with them before but its not nearly as hard as you'd think. Our children arent angels but they're pretty good." Maddy teased. "Mommy," the younger kids whined as East just shook his head. "So i heard somethong happened with a truck just before you guys came in?" she looked between all of us. "Yeah," Maddy breathed holding a tighter grip around the twins. "What happened?" "Well," Maddy paused looking between the boys. "I was getting Masson out of the car and the twins were waiting for us and." she took a few deep breaths trying to calm herself. "Come here," Easton waved the twins towards him as I stood walking towards Maddy"I'm sorry," she breathed as I calmed her. "I thought I was gonna loose them," she looked towards the boys. "It was scary," Owen shivered. "A big truck just started driving towards us." he swallowed. "And then mommy saved us." they smiled looking towards Maddy who held her head against my shoulder. "If she wasn't there," they both stopped realizing what would've happened. "Bad thing would've happened." Easton finished for them. "She gets very emotional." I kissed her head. "I can't blame her." she shook her head. "That must've been scary." She looked at everyone. "It was." We nodded. "But they're ok and that's all that matters." she wiped her eyes mocking what I had said earlier. "The driver of the black truck is being investigated by police at the moment." she nodded. "So Masson?" she smiled at the little boy. "Do you like your baby sister?" she proped her head in her hands. "Ellie?" he looked at me and Maddy. "Yeah bud, she means Ellie." I chuckled. "I love her." he giggled. "I mean she doesn't talk or play with me but she's cute, and mommy and daddy say that soon she'll be able to play with me and I'm really excited for that." He smiled. "Awe," the crowd gushed. "Your so cute," she smiled. "Can I have a hug?" she got up from her seat behind a desk walking a little closer to him. "Ok." he shrugged hopping off of the chair where he sat. He waddled towards her giving her a hug. "Thank you," she smiled. "You're welcome." he smiled walking back towards Easton who seemed to be struggling with his squirming sister. "I can take her back if you want?" I smiled at how hard he tried to keep her from moving. "Please," he begged. "Alright," I chuckled lifting her up. "Are you being difficult?" I kissed her head. "Why are you squirmiung so much?" I cuddled her. "So thats all the time we have folks but here is the mendes family." she clapped as did the audience. "Thanks for coming." she smiled at us. "Thanks for having us," Maddy and I smiled simultaneously. "Our pleasure," she smiled. "See you next week?" she smiled to the cameras. "Wanna say it with me?" she knelt down next to the boys. "See you next week!" they smiled as the cameras shut off. "Good job boys," Maddy smiled at them. "I'm proud of you." She hugged them.
