"D--oc, h-help" patient holding my wrist tightly

"Yes po, yes po. Relax lang po. Sandali lang po ito"

Then the monitoring machine beeps indicating that it had already received the signal of the electrodes attached to the patient's chest.

The patient is still uncontrollably moving at the bed.

"D--oc, h-help"

"Sir, relax lang po. Relax. Maging cooperative po tayo, di ko po matatapos 'to kung di  po kayo kakalma, huwag po magalaw."

"Paul" I called "Paul... I need a man here, please"

Shoot. I. Need. A. Man.

"Yes, Doc!" Paul responded immediately.

"Change muna kayo ni Novi, di niya kaya hawakan si Sir"

Novi the bedside nurse whisphered "Hawakan? Kaya ko Doc, kaya ko po; pero ang masaktan? di ko po kaya"

I poked her head with my ballpen. "Gaga, serious ako. Serious!"

She chuckled."Saan po ba kayo serious Doc, sa binabasa niyo o sa nararamdaman nyo?"

"Last ka na Novi ha! Please get the consent for admission, this is an ICU case"

The monitor beeped twice

I hurriedly went out the cubicle.

"Novs call the laboratory nga, Trop-I order bed 5, ASAP"

"Stand by please, prepare for possible code blue! Please contact ICU for admission"

"Doc, wait lang po" Novi paused. "undecided pa po ang family! Hindi pa po ako naka pa-sign ng consent"

What???

Going back to the nurse station. I saw these two women catfighting at the front of the admitting section.

"... ang problema sa'yo masyado kang paki-alamera! Kabit ka lang wala kang karapatan!"

"Kabit? sino ba ang nasa tabi niya nung nagkakasakit na siya? ako! ako ang nandiyan para sa kanya! eh ikaw?!"

"Oo, wala nga ako dahil paano? ha? dahil ikaw, para kang linta sa kakadikit sa asawa ko, mang-aagaw ka! Kabit!"

All eyes are on them. Luckily, it's the only case for this hour at 4am and the emergency room has no crowd for them.

Can I... can i grab some popcorn here and watch these two? No.

"Excuse me po, ma'am?!" Coolly, I interfered trying to let them see the suituation. Yet, they continued.
