Q: What inspired you to write this?
A: If I'm being brutally honest, the fic I was reading got discontinued halfway through and I got annoyed, so I wrote my own.
Q: What aspect writing here do you enjoy most?
A: I love seeing the reactions of the people who read my writing. One of you guys'll leave a comment about something and there'll be some crazy plot twist in my head that hasn't been published yet and I'll laugh because you're all going to suffer in 4 chapters time.
Whenever I'm feeling down about something I come here and look at the comments some people have left and it makes me a lot happier. You're all so funny and nice and I'm so grateful that you've been here; I genuinely can't praise you guys enough.
Q: Favourite character to write about?
A: I definitely had the most fun with PJ and his power, but I liked all the ones that had things to do with the mind.
Q: Which of the characters powers would like to have?
A: I love the majority of them but probably Dan's, Tyler's and maybe Dodie's.
Q: What's with all the foreign words?
A: I've used Latin words in this fic, partially because I like the language, I study music and sing so I know a couple of words and Latin songs; secondly I didn't know what to name the academy and the types of powers so I translated English to Latin via Google and it happened to sound good. Tip: stuck for names - use a different language that sounds poetic and cool.
Q: How are you so creative?
A: (firstly thank you so much) I don't actually think I am. As it turns out there are quite a few other fics based around superpowers, I've only looked the descriptions so I don't know if they have murderers or Latin in theirs but apparently it's a pretty generic theme. Oh well, aren't all fanfics somewhat generic?
Q: How do you develop your ideas?
A: honestly it just kinda happens, like I'll be sat in the middle of my physics class thinking about the fic plot whilst simultaneously trying (and failing) to learn about covalent bonding and BAM inspiration hits, then it stays in my head until I write it (but I never write and this is why I'm barely passing physics)
Q: How did you tie a person to a power?
A: A lot of characters only have the powers they do to support my ideas and the story's plot - oops. But now and again I look at their real life personality traits and their powers kind of fit into it.
Q: How did you think of the powers?
A: some of them were literally tøp lyrics ('luckily I can read your mind', 'guns for hands' - comment if you find any more), then the rest just kinda came from the top of my head.
Q: Who tops?
A: They're undecided but considering the ending they won't be able to anything of that nature for a while (we all know who tops, come on)
Q: Why was there little romance/no smut?
A: I'm glad you asked, I made a list.
1. Romance isn't my strong point, me writing smut right now would be disastrous.
2. Victuri only properly kissed once and they're my OTP so I think it's acceptable.
3. A story doesn't need a graphic sex scene to be good.
4. I'm not into dick so I don't want to write about dick, but I might do in the sequel who knows.
(Spoiler: no smut in the sequel either)
Q: Why didn't it end happily?
A: Pretty much every fic I read is along the lines of: they meet, fall in love, frick frack and then ride into the sunset together (metaphorically) - I wanted something different.
Q: Was the way it ended how you planned it originally?
A: I wrote a lot of this spontaneously as y'all may know and the cult/murder/sad ending came into the picture when the Heathens music video dropped, LA Devotee fuelled that fire as well - satanic emo music plaguing the minds of the youth; how tragic. I didn't have a solid plan for the end until some 3AM writing session about four months ago so no it was nothing like what I had planned in my head in the first month of writing.
Q: Will there be a sequel?
A: Eh if people want one then I'd be happy to write it (I'm 99.9% sure there will be, I've made a title and cover already)
Q: Do you obtain some sort of sadistic pleasure by toying with peoples emotions?
A: It's the only reason I'm here tbh.
Q: How do you get over writers block?
A: Ugh, writers block. It involves me staring furiously at a screen hoping inspiration will strike, but if I'm really stuck I'll just wait or put in a filler chapter while I sort out my life. It'd help if I did planning and not just know who dies and how it ends.
Q: Do you have an updating schedule?
A: It used to be every Tuesday and Friday, then it became just Tuesday and now I have no schedule whatsoever (judge me all you like). Personally I think the surprise updates are fun, somewhat pressurising but fun all the same.
Q: How do you make covers?
A: I do it all from my phone, I steal photos from We Heart It for backgrounds and use an app called Canva for everything else.
Q: Why do you always say y'all?
A: I'm British so I'd sound stupid saying it offline because of my accent, but here I am free to do what I want.
Q: What would you change if you wrote this again?
A: less characters lmao; I love Robert but his only purpose was fucking something up and then giving someone a donut as an apology.
Q: Will you carry on writing in the future?
A: I'd like to, I have ideas but I'm very lazy so only time will tell.
