"Uh-yea. You go there?" I ask him

He nods. "Consider me your first friend. He smiles and walks away.

After I finish my ice cream I wave to Liam and tell him I'll see him tomorrow in school. After leaving the shop I put on my helmet and get on my bike and try to find a beach around here.

---

I see a beach up ahead and make my way towards it. It's now getting dark and it seems like there's some type of carnival or something going on. The lights from a ferris wheel and laughing and talking from other people around me.

I park my bike near a pole and lock it with my chain so no one can take it. I didn't choose the best clothing for a beach. I'm wearing a black dress that is tight around my waist but flows out and stops right above my knees and I'm wearing my black and white converse as usual.

While walking past a cotton candy machine I see a girl with reall teased black hair and heavy goth looking makeup. She's really pretty and with a group of a whole bunch of goth looking people. Maybe they go to my school. I'm way today to go up and ask but as soon as they turn to away I notice the girl drop something. She doesn't seem to realize because she keeps walking.

I walk over and pick it it up and notice it's a wallet. I walk up to her and gently tap her on the shoulder.

"Hey. I'm, you dropped this." I say to her while holding her wallet out for her to grab.

"No. You tried taking it didn't you." She says with a serious face.

"No, no I swear I saw you drop it-" she cuts me off with a laugh.

"I'm kidding! Thank you so much! Most people around here wouldn't bring a wallet back." She exclaims.

"Well those people are rude. And you're welcome." I smile and turn to walk away.

"Wait up!" She calls out.

I turn around to meet her gaze again. Her almost black eyes staring into my dark blue ones.

"You're new here?" She's asks.

I can't help but laugh. "Is it really that obvious?" I roll my eyes.

"Haha kinda. Everyone knows everyone around here. You wanna hang out with us?" She points back to her group of friends.

"Uh, I don't know I-" she cuts me off by grabbing my arm and yanking me towards her friends.

"If you're going to be attending ridgeway you need friends." She's right. I will need friends. I'm just not sure if my mom will approve of these people. My parents are so judgmental and it's clear that I don't fit in with this crowd.

We all walk over to a wooden table and the girl breaks the silence.

"What's your name?" She asks.

"I'm Bethany. Yours?"

"I'm Tiffany-" she smiles "but you can call me Tiffy." I nod and look down at my hands. None of her other friends seem to notice me. I look around and take a glimpse at each of them.

There's a guy with long hair and a nose ring. Dressed in black baggy jeans with chains on them. He looks kind of scary if you ask me.

The girl sitting next to him has bright yellow hair with a black bow on the side. She's barely wearing any clothing and way too much makeup.

Next to her is a curly haired boy with two lip piercings on each side of his bottom lip. His eyes are green and when the lights hit his white shirt I see black ink under it indicating that he has tattoos.

"Something wrong with your eyes? " He speaks up. He has a deep British accent. I didn't realize that he would notice me looking at him.

I don't answer him but I turn to Tiffy and she looks at me.

"I gotta go." I tell her.

"But you just got here. Why are you in such a rush?" She asks as I'm starting to get up and walk away.

"Sorry, strict parents and it's getting late and there's school tomorrow." I tell her.

"Oh, princess has a bed time." The curly haired boy laughs.

I ignore him and walk away and get to the end of the beach and look for my bike. Once I get to it I put my helmet on and go home.

---

About fifteen minutes later I'm at the end of my driveway and get through the gates. Putting my bike in the garage and making my way inside the house.

"Where have you been!?" My father comes up to me and raises his voice.

"I was just strolling around." I explain to him.

"You don't just stroll around at almost eleven at night and not answer your phone!" He yells again. My phone. I left my phone on the wooden table. Oh my god I hope Tiffy holds on to it for me.

"Father I'm sorry I didn't realize the time. And I must've left my phone here." I lie to him. If he knows that I forgot my phone he flip out on me and I'm not in the mood for this at all.

He lets out a deep sigh and tells me to go to bed. Which is exactly what I do. I change into my pajamas and get under my white comforter and feel my eyes getting heavy. The only think I can't get out of my head is why that boy what being such a jerk to me even though he doesn't know me.
