Because even female authors manage to royally fuck up female characters.
Like, what happened to periods? You know, those satanic waterfalls that happen to most women once a month. So many fanfics ignore this, and I know it's not that important but com'n. I feel like it'd be funny if the main character was in danger because a walker could smell her period.
Also, how cute would it be if you had an OC Carl's age, and Maggie, or someone had to help her when she got her first period. Wait, no: what if Daryl was the one who helped her. Imagine how awkward he would be omg.
This is kinda the same with boobs. Don't get me wrong, boobs are great. Boobs are fun. But boobs hurt like hell when you're running or jumping without a supportive bra. Unless your character somehow has a sports bra, won't she be in some form of pain? Of course, I'm talking about big ol' titties, not smol ol' titties.
