Why do people write their characters all tough, but as soon as something bad happens they break down and start crying? Girl, get your shit together before I mail your shit to you. Actually wait no-
I've read a few books were the description is saying how the character 'has never relied on anyone' and 'is stronger than they thought.' So you expect the character to be badass, however as soon as something semi-interesting happens, she has a fit. I don't know, it's just confusing.
Even with mental illnesses like ADHD, and Bipolar Disorder, you don't go from being super macho, to crying a river. You can't go from being Daryl Dixon to Bella Swan, babes, that's not how it works. It pisses me off. The only reason you make your character seem strong is for views, and then you made them scream is sadness on the ground so Carl comes and hugs her??? Whys she weak, Maggie is stronger than her and she's preggers.
The other thing that kinda related to this theme is when Rick is always mad at the main character. Like, if the character starts talking to Carl, Rick goes ape shit on them. Honey, calm your tits. The is the Walking Dead, not Romeo and Juliet.
