Annie's POV-
I finished booking the cinema tickets on my phone as Luke rushed through the door.

I text Luke earlier and we both decided we would go to the cinema to see the new adaptation of 'The Jungle Book'.

"I didn't think you would be back this late." I looked over at him.
"Sorry, I had to clean and lock up, took longer than I expected."
"Don't apologise, everything at the shop was okay though? Did you manage to lock the doors?"
"Yes, I'm not incapable of locking doors you know." He told me.
"It's good to know that, if your so talented, start locking the front door when you leave the flat, I come back from college and the door was open when no one was in. Anyone could've some in."
"I must've forgot, sorry."
"Stop apologising, I was just reminding you." I walked over to him as he pulled me into his chest.
"I'll try not to do it again." He grinned quickly. His grin was like it was forced and he just wanted to show me he was 'happy'.

"So the tickets are booked for half past eight." I started. He nodded. He took off his jacket and placed it on the sofa.
"And I thought then we could just come back if you wanted to."
"Sounds good." He replied.

Some time had passed, Luke had a shower to get rid of the coffee smell, I had re-done my makeup and hair, I had also changed outfit.

We had ten minutes until the film started and we were still getting ready.

I sprayed myself with some perfume that Luke got me as a late birthday present and then called for him to tell him we had to go.

He slowly walked out of the hallway with his eyes glued to his phone.

"Brooks, lets go." I shouted as he jumped from my loud voice. I laughed as he put his phone in his pocket and followed me out the door.

We finally got in the car and started to drive, Luke was driving. I sat in the passenger seat, taking photos of the sunset.

"How was your day?" I asked, while sipping my bottle of water.
"It was okay." He kept his eyes on the road.

The air was filled with silence for quite a while.

"And my day was fantastic, thanks for asking." I joked before he blinked out of his daydream.
"Err, sorry, I've just been thinking a lot." He put his hand on mine and rubbed it.
"What's up buttercup? You've been acting strange since you got back."
"There's just many things on my mind at the moment, don't worry, I'm fine." He turned towards me and smiled, noticing that I was worried.
"Babe, it's fine, lets just focus on making tonight a good date yeah? When I get a good sleep tonight, I will be more focused on the important things, which includes you at the top of the list."

A smile pulled on my lips as he faced back towards the road.

We arrived at the cinema and we were only two minutes late. Luke was still being awkward towards me and even though he told me earlier why he was doing that, I don't believe him.

Something was wrong and I was dying to find out.
