(Kasumi's POV)

I'm shaken awake after Naruto jumped off the cot.

"Where did he go now?!" Naruto yelled.

"Who are you talking about?" I yawned.

"Pervy-Sage!" Naruto growls.

"He had important errands to run and left me in charge of you." I explained.

"He's always trying to get rid of me." Naruto said dejectedly.

"I promise you that he isn't doing it on purpose. He is really doing something important, don't be mad at him." I said, getting up and walking over to him.

"Well if you say so, dattebayo." he sighs.

"So, the chunin exams start in exactly 3 days. You will spend today resting then tomorrow you will show me what Jiraiya has taught you." I smiled.

"I feel fine though." he complains.

"Even though you feel fine, you still need to heal. The painkillers they gave you are keeping you from feeling the pain anyways." I rolled my eyes.

"But what am I supposed to do for the entire day?!" he groaned.

"Meditate?" I suggested.

His face turned into that of disgust. I know Naruto has so much energy to spare, but the more rest he gets, the better he will do in the finals. He grumbles as he sits back on the cot and pushes the blankets off. He closes his eyes and rests his hands on his crossed legs. He did a simple breathing technique to help with concentration. You know how Naruto is with concentration. The technique is also helpful for anxiety attacks. You breath in through your nose for 3 seconds, hold your breath for three seconds, then release the breath through your mouth for 3 seconds.

"Did you eat today?" I asked.

"Yeah. Pervy-Sage got me some food." Naruto said, his eyes still closed.

"What food did he get you?" I huffed.

Jiraiya wasn't the best at picking good food for a growing child.

"An ice pop." He said, popping the 'p'.

"Nice." I grumbled.

"Yeah, it was really good." he smiled, not understanding what I was hinting at.

I rolled my eyes at his oblivious demeanor.

"I'm going to head out. If I find you out of this hospital, you won't be healthy enough to participate in the exams." I half threatened.

It was a lie. I was it going to yell at him. I'm really starting to sound like a mother. I wonder how Kushina would have been as his mother. I push the distant memories out of the way and leave Naruto to his meditating. I know he wouldn't be in that room for very long though.

~Time skip, the day of the final Chunin Examination~

I really must give props to Naruto. He has improved tremendously but still needs so much more work. I just don't know if he will be able to win his fight. It's against the Huuga's prodigy, Neji. He may be from a branch family but the head of the Huuga Clan trains him more than he trains Hinata. It's sad when you think about it but if Hinata continued to train with her father she would have ended up seriously injured. Neji is a very stuck up, snob of a kid. He always talks about destiny as if it's his destiny to talk about destiny. The kid needs to change his attitude if he wants to appear more charming.

Currently, I am at my post on top of the arena. I am standing above the section that Hiruzen is within. Nothing suspicious has happened but you can just feel the tension in the air. Something is going to go very wrong today and I might not be able to stop it. Th uneasiness at the pit of my stomach reminds me to stay alert and keep an eye on the checkpoints in the village. Most of the villagers are at the arena and placing bets. Many people are here because of the 'main event'. It is the fight between Sasuke Uchiha and Shukaku's host, Gaara of the Desert. The bets that are placed are like half and half. Kakashi has yet to turn up with his student though, making many people complain. The first fight, Naruto vs. Neji, has already begun. Naruto is doing fairly well because of his excellent stamina. His strategies he comes up with are not in the norm too, making up for the gap in skill level. In a surprising twist, Naruto wins the fight and teaches Neji a life lesson. Murmurs among the crowd made it to my ears.

Are they sure they should let that participate?

Is it safe to allow him become a shinobi?

He's such a disgrace on the village, a stain.

Demon.

Monster.

Murderer.

I shook my head and ignored the constantly whispering voices. Naruto will show them someday.

Kakashi and Sasuke have still yet to arrive. The procter is debating whether or not they should disqualify him. Disgruntled voices from the crowd sway the proctor. So many people have come to see Sasuke's fight. A lot of them are daimyos from nearby lands and it would be best to have good relations with them. They continue the fights until Sasuke arrives. Talk about a big entrance.

Below me, I could feel the power and excitement emanating from the 'Kazekage'. I already know that it is actually Orochimaru. The only reason I have not totally obliterated him yet is that I need a know his target. I have a hunch that it is Sasuke but I want to be really sure. I also have a feeling that he wants to destroy Konoha.

As I was lost in my mind, the heated battle reached a climax. Shukaku has begun to take over his host once more.

"Shukaku!" I shouted, grabbing his attention.

"Now is not the best time or place to be taking over your host!" I growled.

With that, the man-beast ran off into the endless forests of the Leaf. The ANBU are fighting against the Sound and Sand shinobi. At the village gates, one of Orochimaru's summons was attacking. It was a two headed snake with a purple bandana, proving his allegiance with Orochimaru.

Hiruzen, who suspected this would happen, was fighting against his pupil. Orochimaru has also cut off their battle from the rest of the world. His four subordinates created a purple barrier that burns anyone who touches it into ashes. With three things going on at once, I don't know where to help. I'm afraid that I may end up choosing wrong and more will die.

My head swiveled between the two-headed snake ravaging the village and the fight between a pupil and his master. I saw a team go after Shukaku's hope and I place my trust and hope in them. I know Naruto went and because he is there I am positive things will turn out okay on their end.

The shinobi were having a hard time fending off the snake and the two attacking forces. Our numbers were shrinking quickly, as well as our chance of victory.

I thought of what Minato might do in this situation. I closed my eyes and bared my teeth.

I had come to a decision. One that may kill Hiruzen.
