I'm a horrible person to not update enough. Sorry, my dear readers.

(Kasumi's POV)

After dealing with Naruto's complaints about me not teaching him, I flew over to the Hokage's Heads. Landing on top of them, I let out a short, annoyed breath.

"Fukusū no bijon."

At the sound of my voice, multiple checkpoints across the village came into my vision. I was able to change my vision in order to see each scene. Now it was as if I was all over the village all at once.

"Fukusū no kōchōkai."

Now, along with multiple checkpoints of vision, I could hear each scene as I looked at them.

"Baki, I'm serious about the spirit. She knows what were doing." I heard a whisper.

I began to search through the scenes to find where I had heard that whisper. I knew the voice, I heard it once before. It was of the man who carried a puppet on his back.

I found the scene in one of the lesser known restaurants. It looks like no other customers where there. I flew to the restaurant and carefully landed on it's roof. I didn't want to notify them of my presence.

"Honestly, Kankuro, the Kazekage told me about her. She isn't one to mess with. Has Gaara met her yet?"

"Yes, multiple times. She calls him Shukaku though. It's as if she is adressing the tailed beast itself."

"She is ancient. She has been here since the tailed beasts made their appearance, probably longer than that too. With her actually showing up, I don't know how the Kazekage will want us to handle this."

"Should I take her out?"

"Not possible. She can crush you in seconds. Not many shinobi are stronger than she is. She's also intelligent. She's helped the Hokages through war, or so I've heard."

"Should we really be talking about this here?" a female voice joins.

"No one's here, Temari. We're fine."

"But Baki, can't you feel it?"

She was hinting at something. She must have noticed me. This Temari seems to be highly receptive to her surroundings.

"Feel what? Maybe you just have gas."

"Shut up, Kankuro! I'm serious!"

"Kankuro."

"What, now I'm the bad guy?!"

"She's here!"

No voices were heard after that. I could see them looking around as they exited the restaurant. I figured it would be best to warn them. I jumped down to the group, landing with a light thud. Temari had pulled out her fan and Kankuro, his puppet.

"Enough, I did not come to fight. I came to warn you. Your Kazekage isn't who he says he is. Why would he make you guys attack an ally? Shukaku is unstable as it is and in only increases so with his host's behavior. Are you prepared for a war?" I said.

Their faces showed no signs of backing down and their weapons were still drawn.

"Alright. If you do not plan on backing down, I'm letting you know now that I am not afraid to kill." I threatened.

Their chakra wavered a bit, showing their fear. I gave them all one last look to be sure that they understood me. I pumped my wings up and rose above the buildings, leaving those Suna shinobi behind. I went back to my perch atop the Hokages Heads. I lied down and began to look and listen at each checkpoint for any knowledge which might help me. I wanted to find Orochimaru but no one even knows he is here besides Hiruzen, a couple shinobi and I. I doubt I would find any information on the snake amongst the common folk. I laid my wings out to my sides, letting them stretch to their fullest extent. The sun that beat down on them felt refreshing.

I really should tell Hiruzen about the impending attack. It would make him prepare for it. He might possibly know already. I don't want to have him make the first move though. I don't want him to start a war, just defend against one. If we attacked Sunagakure first, the other allied nations would attack Konohagakure to help the Sand. Just when I thought all the fighting would be over, Orochimaru decides to rile things up again.

I roll over onto my side with a groan. I guess the last thing I can do to prevent further invasion is put up an invisible barrier. Only people who live in Konohagakure are allowed to pass through. If a person who doesn't live here tries to pass the barrier, they will be blocked. If there is an issue with this, I will show up and dissolve the issue. I rise from the ground and begin concentrating my chakra. This Jutsu will take a lot out of me, especially when I have to maintain it. It will be a hindrance but it is necessary for heightened security.

"Chōkyori shōheki."

The concentrated chakra at my core expands to cover the distance of Konohagakure. This will protect from aerial attacks as well. It's as if a giant, protective bubble landed on Konohagakure. Nothing visual has changed but any skilled shinobi would be able to sense the immense chakra in the surrounding air.

I take a deep breath and settle myself. The wind ruffles the short fur on my neck, cooling me down. Once more, I take of to the Hokage's building to check in with Hiruzen. I hover by the window and push on it with my paw, making it rattle. A guard in the room swings the window open and I land on the sill. From the sill, I hop onto the ground and nod a greeting to Hiruzen.

"Do you have something to do with the sudden increase in chakra?" he asks.

"Yes, I have set up a protective barrier around the village. Everything will continue normally but if an issue arises, let me know as quickly as possible." I chuckle.

"But why such protective measures, Kasumi?" he questions.

"Do you sense the impending attack. It's been building up recently." I whisper.

"Hmm, I have noticed it, yes." he sighs.

"I'm preparing for war." I solemnly decree.

Be it war or peace, I will make sure everyone is prepared.
