One year. I had been waiting for that day for one year. The sight in front of my eyes was seemingly unbelievable. I couldn't help it, I broke into tears.

Taking the test into my hands and seeing the two lines on the stick, I was beyond happy. I was euphoric. I knew Shawn would be too.

Shawn and I had been together for almost four years. After two years, we moved into our first apartment. It was a generous size, considering both Shawn and I had money. Shawn from his music and I from my acting.

Shawn and I weren't married. With both of our jobs making our time together limited, we couldn't find the time to. Both of us definitely wanted to, of course. We had spoke about it numerous times. But there was no time.

Then, we decided, a baby. Having a baby would be great for the two of us to spend time together. Well, more time. So for a year, we had been trying to have a baby. We tried everything we could, yet the outcome seemed uncertain.

Even if we couldn't get married, a baby would be the perfect way to tie us together.

Once I saw the two lines on the stick, I squealed and began to cry. Tears of joy and excitement. I pulled out my phone and dialed Shawn, who was at the studio.

The phone rang a few times before Shawn answered.

"Y/N?" He asked, sounding unsettled. I knew better than to call him while he was recording, so the few times I had he would get nervous.

"Come home, please." I said. I couldn't hide the smile from my voice.

"Is everything okay?" Shawn asked.

"Everything's great. More than great. Perfect! Just come home, please." I told Shawn.

I heard him fumbling on the other end of the phone and then a distinct jingle of keys in his hand. A door closed and Shawn called out to someone.

"I'll be home in a few minutes, okay? Don't move." Shawn hung up. And I did as he told.

I paced around the bathroom, grinning, crying, being happy. I couldn't wait to share the news with Shawn. I knew he would be just as happy as me.

When I heard the front door open, I jumped and squealed from excitement. I looked at myself in the mirror, my grin spreading wider. I didn't know that was possible.

"Y/N?" Shawn called out.

"In the bathroom!" I called back.

I heard his footsteps draw closer as he approached the bathroom. When he appeared in the doorway, he looked so worried. When he saw the big grin that spread across my lips, his tense demeanor softened.

"Y/N, what's up? Why'd you-" Shawn stopped mid sentence when he noticed the pregnancy test on the counter. He looked back up at me. I nodded. "Oh my god!"
