Luke’s POV:

“Luke, we are screwed!” Leigha yells pacing around her room. She is completely flustered. She has sat up all night up rereading the text and panicking. She looks beautiful when she is all mad like this. Her hair is still curly from the concert, but flying everywhere. Her makeup resembles a clown and is all over her face from crying.

“Babe, calm down!”

“Damn you and your good ideas!” Leigha yells at me. I smile.

“I love you Lee!”

“I fucking love you too. That’s the problem,” she says on the verge of crying.

“We just need to hide it more. You only have less than a month until graduation.”

“But this person!” She says whining.

“Is just trying to cause something. We can’t get in trouble. We have kissed, but you're 18. We should be fine. Don’t you worry.”

“Whatever. I’m going to take a nap.” I kiss her cheek.

“I’m going to your brother’s. We are going to celebrate.”

“Luke!” Leigha yells as I walk out of her room.

“Yes?”

“Be careful boyfriend!”

“Good night beautiful.”

I walk across the street and go to my house. I knew this text is a big threat. I love teaching and if this person goes public I’ll most likely lose my teaching certificate. I can’t even imagine how bad this can be.

Monday morning I sit hungover in my brother in law’s office. I look like a teacher for once. “Hello Luke,” Ed says with a sad smile. Fuck. That person told him, I’m getting fired. Shit.

“Ed, what’s up?”

“Step into my office.”

“Alright.”

“So, I got a call. Luke, I’m so proud of you.”

“What?” I’m so confused.

“Luke, you got offered a professor position at University of Michigan Dearborn.”

“Seriously?”

“Yes. Are you going to take it?”

“Fuck yes!”

“I’m going to miss you bro. Now go tell your fiance and sister, well sisters.”

“Yes sir. Ed, I’ll miss you too.” I practically skip out of the office.

“Hey Janey, I need to talk to you.”

“Ok. Could everyone go out in the hallway? I need to talk to my brother in private,” Janey says shooing her first class out, it's before the bell so it's ok for them to be in the hall.

Janey sits at her computer and stares at me. “I have two things to tell you, but you can’t repeat either of them. It could be bad. I could have a pissed fiance and if Mom finds out from you she’ll have my ass...”

“Lucas! Spit it out!” Janey yells anxiously.

“The first thing is the bad. Leigha got a text from a person that they know we are engaged and that they are telling.”

“Oh Lucas. I’m sorry..”

“I think I just got the solution. I got accepted as a professor at University of Michigan Dearborn for educational teaching...” I went on to explain to her my plan.
