Luke’s POV:

Everyone has left. My mom and Aunt Jan are watching a chick flick. Leigha is packing. I am playing with Carl. He’s a cute little fellow. I sit at the bottom of the stairs letting him just walk around on the bottom step. “Hey Luke, I’m ready.” She says with a smile as she adjusts the duffle bag on her shoulder.

“Ok. What are we doing with Carl?”

“Here, there’s a cage in the basement for him,” she says grabbing Carl. I follow her down the stairs. No one really comes down here much lately. The basement was made up of three rooms;  Uncle Jason’s office, the game room and the storage room. She pulls a cage out of the storage room and set Carl in it. She plugs in a light.

“Have you gone in there at all?” I point to the office.

“No. I don’t think anyone has,” she says sadly.

“Do you want to? I’ll go in with you.”

“No. There’s nothing in there for me. I’m fine.”

“You sure?”

“Yeah, can we leave now?”

“Sure thing birthday girl.” I grab her hand as we make our way upstairs.

“I think we should celebrate Lee!” I say an hour later sitting at the island in my kitchen.

“What are you think?”

“Never Have I Ever?” She shakes her head and laughs.

“Sure?” She says smiling.

“Alright. Grab that wine and I’ll get the glasses.”

“You can start,” she says pouring me a glass.

Leigha’s POV:

I was a bit tipsy after an hour of playing. “Luke, I’m tired.”

“Let me help you,” he says wrapping his arm around me.

“I’m fine,” I tell him as I trip over Belle.

“Yeah. I see that. Come on Lee.”

“Thanks Luke.” His bed is so comfy. It’s huge and amazing.

“Night birthday girl,” he whispers as the lights went out.

“Aren’t you coming to bed?”

“I will in a minute,” he says closing the door.

In the morning, Belle is licking my face. “Morning Belle!”

“Morning to you too Lee,”  Luke tosses a throw pillow at me.

“Good morning Luke.”

“Remember that conversation a few days ago?” He questions.

“Luke, I feel like we should wait until after graduation.”

“Ok Lee. That’s fine by me.What do you want to do today?”

“I wish we could go out.”

“Let’s go shopping!”

“But most the malls around here we could see people from school.”

“I know one that most people don’t really go to, but it’s a long car ride. So we should leave now,” he says with a smirk.
