Luke’s POV:
Leigha and Jenny stand at Leigha’s locker. Leigha looks hot even if she is a mess. I can’t hear what is said, but they both walk away. Second hour passes quickly and I almost go home faking an immaginary illness.
Third house rolls around and Leigha waltz in. She doesn’t look at me. Her eyes look like she’s been crying. It breaks my heart to see her hurting. I pretend I'm ok and go on teaching. Jenny is giving me death stares every moment she could. That bitch Aria noticed my ring is gone. At the end of the hour she brought it up. “Mr.Smith, can I ask you a question?”
“You just did Aria.”
“Where’s your promise ring?” Half the class stare at me like they care. Jenny waits for my words like she would throw them back in my face.
“Um I had to break up with my girlfriend for some personal reasons. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I’ve seen her since then and it breaks my heart to see her hurting. I actually have two tattoos that are for her. Hopefully, she will forgive me eventually.” Leigha slumps down further into her desk.
“You have two tattoos?” Jenny questions surprised.
“Yes Jenny. I have a small infinity on my ring finger and then I have her initials and then the leaf on my arm. “
“Where do you have her initials?” Aria asks. Leigha rolls her eyes.
“Enough with the personal questions. Gosh guys. We have ten minutes still. If you want to have a group chat come sit by my desk so I can pretend to do work. Shit I said that out loud. Crap I said shit. Crap!” They all laugh. Everyone moves around the room. All the girls except Leigha and Jenny move toward my desk.
The girls bombarded me with questions. I open my email to see one from the councilor.
“Hey Luke. Leigha Clark has dropped you t.a. class. She said she couldn’t handle it and she needed a free hour. She can get it back later in the year if she wants. Just thought I’d let you know. ~Ava Say =)”
I am hurt. I text Leigha.
Me: Are you dropping any of my other classes?
Lee: If I could I sure would
Me: Why
Lee: I break your heart to see you hurting and yet you caused this
Me: Lele someone knew. They threatened me!
Lee: Good for you. Hope you're happy now.
Me: I couldn’t lose my job. Im still wearing my ring it’s on a chain to be less suspicious. Yours is in your jewelry box. Im sorry Lee
Lee: I wont wear mine. Im going to move on Luke.
Me: If that’s how you wanna be..
Lee: It is. Let’s pretend this never happened
Me: These were the best few months of my life I wont forget them.
I watched her put away her phone. She looked on the edge of tears.
The girls decided to ask me questions. “Where do you live?”
“In a pool house at my now ex girlfriends until the weekend.”
“What’s your best friend’s name?”
“Toby and Ben.”
“Do you have any pets?”
“No. I helped train my ex girlfriend’s dog Belle.”
“How long were you two together?”
“We’ve wanted to be together since I was 12. Only the past few months really though.”
“What’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you?”
“I honestly don’t want to talk about it. Class you can leave. Have a great day.”
“Fuck you Mr.Smith,” Jenny says smiling.
“Well Jenny. Would you like me to call your mom again?”
“No sir. Sorry sir,” Jenny says rolling her eyes.
I wait for Leigha to come in for fourth hour, but she doesn’t show up. Jenny pays attention and pretends she doesn’t notice anything. I teach science and give out the homework. Then I text Leigha.
Me:Shouldn’t you be in my class
Lee: Don’t worry about me.
Me: Um well that’s dumb because no matter what I always will
Lee: Whatever Luke.
Ben:Lucas Ethan Smith. Why is my sister upset?
Me: What are you talking about?
Ben: Tasha said you guys broke up. WTF
Me: Dude, I got threatened. I had too. I need my job.
Ben: Prove it.
Me: This bitch is making me go on a date. You’ll see her when she comes to pick me up tonight.
Ben: Lee’s gonna be pissed.
Me: Yeah I can't help it.
Author’s Note: I gotta stop there for now. Sorry it's so short. I have to go to bed because i’m being annoying to my brother and his gf who are trying to sleep. I can’t even do a dialogue. Love you guys. I’ll upload when i get 900 reads :)
