Mary Had A Little Lamb.

Mary had a little lamb,

His fleece was crimson red.

She tried to run away from him,

But you can't outrun the dead.

He followed her to school one day,

She preyed it was one of her bad dreams.

She watched the lamb slaughter the children,

The whole town could hear their tortured screams.

And so the teacher turned it out,

But the lamb still hovered close by.

It waited in the shadows for Mary,

Loving the pain and sorrow in each tear she would cry.

Mary caught sight of the lamb and sighed as she spoke,

"There is just no escape, heaven knows I tried."

"You'll never be rid of me, we will be together forever."

Mary stood and skipped towards the city, her blood stained lamb, always at her side.

I've always been obsessed with nursery rhymes and children's stories, retelling them to make them darker. So I'd love to know what you think of this?

Thank you for reading!
