Will You Stay Away Forever? 34

Start from the beginning

“Jee, is this one of your Grappling techniques?” She wiggled out of his grip, still grinning so broadly her cheeks hurt.

“Maybe...” He twisted her wrists, restraining her in a way that made her unable to move. “I’m an ego maniac!” Brian grinned cockily, trying to make Chloe go easy on him.

“Yes, you are! A damn sexy one! ” She agreed, leaning forwards to press her lips to his, kissing him playfully. Brian tugged her wrists down, making her back arch backwards to allow him to kiss Chloe rougher. “I want out.” Chloe puckered her lower lip when they pulled away.

Brian's long fingers immediately freed her hands, leaving for her waist. “Here, I think I’ve dominated you enough for the next number of days.” He winked, referring to the hot sex they had earlier.

“I kinda meant that I wanted to step outside…” Chloe said softly and reached behind her to open the large doors, feeling the cold breeze hit her back. “C’mon!” She motioned for him to follow her as her feet paced on the freezing, wet stone in Brian’s backyard. The rain fell on her exposed skin, soaking her with wistful nostalgia.

“Chlo, are you insane? You’re gonna freeze!” Brian called, following her outside. He looked gloomily at the grey skies, hoping to be back in the warm house. “Careful!” He exclaimed nervously when she almost slipped on a small puddle.

All Chloe did was laugh as the rain fell on her skin, soaking the ends of her long hair as the fresh air enveloped her. “Loosen up!” She called, reaching her hand out for him to take.

She loved the rain, the cold, the snow. It made her connect to her emotions.

Brian shook his head and suddenly pulled his t-shirt off. Excitement washed over Chloe, hoping he had decided to cooperate. But her hopes were crashed when Brian spoke up.

“Babe, you and our baby are gonna catch a cold.” He huffed and pulled his warm t-shirt over her head, covering her tiny babydoll.

“Brian you’re such a fun sucker.” Chloe pouted as she reluctantly slipped her arms through the wide sleeves. His t-shirt was cozy and smelled of him, which was even better than being in the rain.

“No, I’m a responsible parent.” Brian grinned broadly. Suddenly his arm found her mid-back while the other hooked under her thighs, and he lifted Chloe up bridal style. “Let’s go, rebel rouser.” Brian said while stepping back into the house.

Oh my god! What day it is!?” Chloe gasped once her feet touched ground.

“Um…Thursday…I think…I kinda lose track of time when we’re not touring.” Brian began rambling.

“Brian, we have our appointment today!!!” Chloe exclaimed, not believing how she could forget about it.

“I thought we were done with Dr. Klein.” He blinked.

“I’m talking about the baby!!! We have the ultrasound thing! The baby’s sonogram?” Chloe smack herself on the head, which is not something she usually does.

“Oh yeah, that…” Brian stammered and then looked at the clock, “We have a couple of hours.” He said.

“Yeah, to prepare!” Chloe mumbled, tugging at the wet ends of her hair, trying to figure out how to fix it. “Guh!” She muttered, turning to walk into the bedroom.

“I want an Owen.” Brian called out, making Chloe stop in her tracks.

“What?” She blinked as she turned around puzzled.

“If we’re having a boy, I want to name him ‘Owen’.” Brian explained, there was no need for him to say why.

Chloe blinked, letting the request sink in. “Ok.” She said, she wasn’t a big fan of the idea but she knew how highly Brian thought of Jimmy, how much he adored his late friend.

“Really?” Brian asked, as if he wasn’t expecting that reaction from her. Chloe sighed and walked up to Brian. She tiptoed to wrap her arms around his shoulders, which were still a bit wet.

“Really.” She kissed his cheek and hugged him tightly, closing her eyes as she comfortably buried her face in the curve on his neck. “I love you.” She softly said the first thing that came to her mind.

She felt Brian’s lips softly press to her shoulder, “I love you too.” His voice was muffled by her skin. “This means a lot to me.” He confessed.

“I know.” Chloe nodded and then kissed the tip of his nose before readjusting the thin ring that pierced his nostril.

The sound of HIM’s “Drunk on Shadows.” Ironically broke the silence. “You’ve a text message.” Brian pointed out cockily.

“No shit dude.” Chloe smirked and walked to the kitchen counter. Her sly smile dropped when she read the text. “Brian?” Chloe called, her tone implying that he comes over.

Mmm?” He hummed and peeked into the room.

“Jade and Matt want to make peace with us.” Chloe showed him the screen of her iPhone.

“How ‘bout no.” He scowled bitterly.

“Brian…they’re family…” Chloe mumbled uneasily, ready to let go of the resentment. They haven’t spoken to Matt and Jade for a couple of weeks.

“I don’t fucking care, he pushed you!” Brian insisted.

Chloe carefully put her phone down and squeezed the water out of her hair. “Baby you push people too when you’re mad…” She said.

“Yeah well I don’t push my pregnant sisters in-law to the fucking floor.” Brian snapped bitterly and searched the basket on the counter for a cigarette and a lighter. He then stopped and looked outside the window, it was still pouring rain.

His eyes then found Chloe, who was frowning at the sight of his cigarette. She absolutely hated that he smoked, it was bad for his health and she didn’t want him to smoke anywhere around her, now that she was pregnant.

Brian cleared his throat and threw the pack of Marlboro back into to basket, passing on the idea.

“C’mon, let’s get ready.” Chloe said calmly and rested a hand on his back, leading him away from there.
