Chapter Nineteen

Inayah's P.O.V.

After a short pause he continued again to speak.

"It was him."

"Who Hamdan? Who was it?"

"Aaron" he mumbled.

I stared at Hamdan gobsmacked. But why would he do such a thing. What did Hamdan ever do to him and what did I even do to him?!

"Do we have to go to court again or something?" I asked quietly.

"Hmm I think so." He mumbled again, he looked me in the eyes this time and forced a smile. Then he stood up and left the house.

I looked up at the ceiling and noticed how much detail and pattern was on it. It looked like complicated henna patterns. That moment I noticed so many things in the room, detailed patterns and dust particles.on a normal mood.

I sighed, standing up and walking towards the window. Looking out I saw the last glimpse of Hamdan's car driving away at the end of the street. Suddenly the phone rang, it was Samara.

"Hey Sammi"

"Heyy sista, how are you?"

"Not good actually."

"Why what happened" replied Samara with a worried tone.

"I don't know how to explain it to you over the phone. Why don't you ask Mum and Dad to allow you to come here for a day or two. I'm missing you quite a bit. Bring Ayaat along as well, I haven't seen her in a while. How is she doing?"

"Yes I will ask them. And Ayaat is doing fine alhamdulillah. Come on, tell me now what happened."

"Samara I told you, if you want to know then come over today. I can come and pick you up if you like."

"Okay okay, and no I'll come alone."

"Okay then call me when you leave the house. Bye."

"Hmm bye."

And she cut the line.

There was a knock at the door.

I walked and opened it.

"Inayahhh!" Samara jumped in and gave me a tight hug.

"Samaraaa" I replied and hugged her back.

She released me and had a broad smile on her face.

"I have news!" She cried excitedly.

"Tell me then. But first come in and sit."

We both went and sat down in the living area.

"Well..I've just been given a marriage proposal by Aaron's family! And I've said yes."

I gulped hard at the mention of Aaron's name.

"W..what did you say Samara?" I asked hoping that I heard her wrong.

"Where's your ears gone?" she asked sarcastically.

"I'm being serious Idiot. Tell me."

"Chill...Basically I'm marrying Aaron. He's such a nice guy."

"Samara reject him NOW."

"What the hell Inayah! Why??"

"I told you to do so Samara."

I was on the verge of tears and cut the line.

This couldn't be happening. My little sister marrying a monster. Never! Oh God please help me.

I rang Hamdan instantly and luckily he answered on the first ring.

"Hello. There's something urgent I need to tell you." I told him.

"Why what happened? He sounded concerned at my tone of voice.

"Please come home first."

"I can't Inayah. I'm too far away from home, tell me now."

"Fine...Samara got a marriage proposal -"

"That's amazing!" He interrupted.

"No it's not Hamdan." I said. I sensed he was wondering what I meant so I continued.

"The marriage proposal was from Aaron and his family."

There was silence on the other side.

"Hamdan you there?"

Silence again.

"Hamdan??

Finally he spoke.

"Yeah am here. I'll talk to you later. Okay?"

"Umm okay then."

"Thanks, bye."

"Bye."

It's been over a month since my last update so I'm very sorry but school's been getting in the way!

I know if chapters are published after a long time the story doesn't stay as intriguing as before sooo Im sorrryyy again but please bare with me😅
