T w e n t y F o u r- Girl Meets Just Friends

I turned around to see Josh.

Oh crap.
The last time when I saw him was after we made love.. .
And then he tells me he loves me.. .
The I faint...then Lucas comes along......
and now THIS!

"Hey Maya!" He placed his hand on the back of his neck.

"Hey" I took the box from Josh and held it tight.

"Well.. I need to get this box to riley. You know her and the decorations"
I heard my name being called from the living room.

"I guess that's my cue" I said breaking the silents.

I walked off when a hand stopped me.

"Maya. I hope you are okay. And we have a chance to talk?"

" I'm fine and yes"

I went to the living room and gave the decorations over to Riley.

I sat down watching Her and Auggie  put up the decorations.

Josh and lucas came out to help Corey.

And I was sitting watching topanga bake cookies.

After we all finished our jobs we watched Christmas movies.

I saw lucas  slide his arm around riley. She snuggled up next to him.

This made me feel.. Happy and free. I'm independent now, I guess I've always been, but now I'm just Maya Hart.

I want to be good. I don't want to harm myself or hurt the people I love.

This is life now.

But I also have this burning jealous feeling inside me.

I laid in bed next to riley with my eyes wide open. 

Didnt  Josh want to talk to me? Didnt I agree?

I sneaked  out of Riley's room and went for the spare bedroom where Josh was sleeping in.

"Josh?"

"Maya! Your awake!"
I smiled threw the darkness

"You can start talking now"  I said "what is so important that u need to talk?

"Maya, I love you more than anything in the world, I knew that all along,but i just couldn't get That threw my stupid ass brain. You are amazing, you are talented, you are wonderful, you are the apple of my eye, you are rose and I am jack on titanic. That's how deep my love is for you!"

I started tearing up thinking about what I thought to myself earlier that I would be an independent woman.

"Josh.." I whispered

"I love you too. You are all I ever wanted. Ever. You are my Romeo.. And I'm your Juliet.. But things can not be the same as they were before."

"Why not!?"

"Josh, I slept with you. You confessed your love for me the day latter. Josh, I need time.
I know you think every girl says that,but I mean it. We.." I sighed "can not be" I hesitated.

I can't believe  I'm actually saying this.
All that was on my mind. I actually slept with him.

I wanted that for years,but he can not just want me after sleeping together

I gave him a passionate kiss on the lips saying goodbye to love.

"Hello to us being friends?"

"Friends"

It's settled me and josh are friends.
This gives me time for other things.
That's settled.

Now it's time to settle what happened between me and lucas.
