Welcome Home

Kim's P.O.V

"We're back!" Mrs. Mason said in a sing song. Josh was the first to throw down his hand made banner and sprint to the door. I trailed behind and held up his banner which read. "WELCOME HOME LIAM! : ) " Liam walked through the door, using a crutch. He looked shattered. Selena had her arm through his as she bought him into the house further.

"Aww Josh!" Liam kneeled down and opened up his arms for Josh to run into. After their little embrace Mr. and Mrs. Mason departed, with Mr. Mason no doubt going to his study and Mrs. Mason going up into her designing lab. Josh told Liam that he was going to make him his favourite fruit smoothie and ran off excitedly and I went to follow him when Selena cleared her throat noisily.

"Ahem!" She stuck out her fore finger and obnoxiously beckoned me over.

"What are you doing Selena?!" I heard Liam snap. "Don't treat Kim in that manner! She's more apart of this family than you'll ever be!" I was slightly shocked but I didn't show it. Selena continued to smirk at me, as if Liam's voice was irrelevant. I stood in a defensive manner with my arms folded as I glared straight at her.

"Liam...if you could be so kind as to tell Kim our current relationship status please" I looked up at Liam in a questioning manner. As I looked deep into his eyes I felt a sense of sorrow. I was confused.

"Selena...Selena..." He stuttered. "Is my girlfriend" He mumbled and he dropped his head. Selena tutted and slapped his shoulder.

"Speak up! Not everyone has my 20/20 hearing you know!" She laughed. Liam whipped up his head to look at me.

"She's my girlfriend" His pupils had dilated, as if he was about to tear up. I couldn't help but feel like my heart had just sank. I looked around me as if I was looking for something to do.

"I didn't want there to be any sort of confusion you see, so I decided it was best to clear things up" Selena laughed as she drew her arm from Liam and made her way to the stairs. "I'd best unpack" Before she got to the first step she turned her head to face me. "Oh and Kim?" I looked over my shoulder to see her smirk. "No hard feelings?"

"None" I said through gritted teeth. She made her way up whilst humming to herself. I went to step away when Liam caught my arm.

"Kim?" I looked up at him sternly. He opened his mouth to talk, but no words escaped him. Another tear slid down my cheek but I instantly wiped them. I pulled my hand from his grasp.

"Do you need something?" I asked, trying to remain professional. Solemnly, Liam shook his head softly and let me remain just the smallest piece of my dignity left by walking away from him.

Mrs. Mason's P.O.V

"Please mom? Pleaseeeeeee?" 

"Alright alright!" I finally gave in to Josh's pleading to go and see the latest Star Wars film that he, James and Liam are obsessed with. 

"Yay! I'll just go get everybody!" Josh ran up to the stairs and shouted at the top of his voice. "LIAM! KIM! DADDY!" I tutted.

"Josh!" Josh looked over his shoulder at me miserably and mumbled. 

"Selena" He almost whispered, suddenly Selena emerged from the kitchen with her fashionable coat wrapped around her, she sighed. 

"Finally! I'm dying of boredom in here!" I was quite surprised, mostly at the fact that Selena must've been listening intently to our conversation to hear Josh's whisper, and also at her abruptness about being bored. She walked over to Josh and I saw her squeeze his cheek tightly before whispering the words. "Thanks for inviting me...scamp" Josh threw her hand down before whimpering. 

"Mommy!" He ran over to me, Selena laughed.

"Isn't he just adorable?" 

Kim's P.O.V

"Sweet popcorn please and fanta" I asked for

"Sweet popcorn please and coke" Liam asked for 

"Vanilla ice cream!" Josh squealed

"Nachos" Mr. Mason said as he pulled out his wallet.

"Salted popcorn please" Mrs. Mason asked for politely.

"Salted popcorn and a bottle of water...Oh! And some nachos" Selena demanded.

"I wanna do it this time daddy!" Josh asked, we always have to determine the snack order before hand. "Ok so! Liam and Kim have to sit next to each other, and daddy and Selena have to sit together and also mommy" Mr. Mason laughed awkwardly.

"In fact, I'll leave the nachos, I'll just have some of your mother's popcorn"

"So it will go: me, kim, liam, daddy, mommy...and selena" Selena stepped forward.

"I change my drink to coke...and what a surprise(!) I have to sit next to Liam!"

"Sorry Selena, the snacks are already bought" Mommy told her. Selena grunted as we entered the screening room.

I couldn't pretend it wasn't awkward, coincidentally every time I went to take a handful of popcorn so did Liam! I tried hard to avoid his hand but when I was getting drawn into the movie I didn't realise that I had my hand resting on Liam's! He cleared his throat and I immediately drew my hand away from him. 

"Sorry" I whispered

"What happened to no more apologies?" Liam joked, I tried to hide my smile but I couldn't help it. "I see that little smile Kim" I looked across at Liam and began to blush. Suddenly I heard Selenas voice.

"Kimmy, be a dear and get me a sweet popcorn" She yelled across us all.

"Mommy said the snacks are already bought!" Josh explained.

"It doesn't matter honey" Mr. Mason said. I smiled politely and walked out of the room. I managed to dodge everybody's feet but I knew the return trip was going to be hard. 

When I returned to the room, I wasn't surprised to see that Selena had taken my place besides Liam. I sighed and tread carefully across the row. As I began to approach Liam and Selena I stopped focusing on my feet and unfortunately tripped over Mrs. Mason's handbag! I went flying down to the floor, with the popcorn spilling all over me. Embarrassed, I wanted to burst into tears. The sweet popcorn began to cling to my top and I looked up to see Selena sniggering and Liam's hand out to help me up. I didn't take his help and stood up. I brushed myself down and handed Selena half of the popcorn. 

"Gosh, can't the help these day's do anything right?" I clenched my fist in anger, ready to retaliate. Selena ate a popcorn kernel and spat it out. "UGH! This is sweet!" She threw it back at me, i caught it early enough for it not to spill all over me - again. "Take 2" She laughed. I gritted my teeth. The audience became unsettled.

"Oi! Sit down!" 

"Perhaps you would like to go and get it, seeing how I can't do anything right?" Selena rolled her eyes. "No? Thought not" As I went to take a step away Selena stuck out her ankle boot, I nearly tripped but I felt Liam's hand on my stomach, keeping me upright. He remained silent though, not daring to scold Selena. I laughed. "You know what?!" I stepped back to Selena and took hold of her bottled water. I unscrewed the cap and held it over her head, she shrieked dramatically as it dripped down her 'designer' clothing and I laughed maniacally. 

'CLICK OF HER FINGERS'

"Hello?! Earth to nanny!" I shook myself out of the daze I was in. "This is sweet popcorn. I asked for salted"

"You asked for sweet" I corrected. Selena scoffed.

"Typical, the help can't do much right" I laughed and snatched the popcorn from her.

"I'm so sorry Selena, I'll just go and rectify my mistake" Liam's facial expression dropped as if he didn't expect my polite response.
