Kim's P.O.V

"Now Kim, don't forget" I nodded as I handed Mrs. Mason's coat for her to slot her arms into. "Josh is starting football after school today so you don't have to pick him up until 5 o'clock" I nodded understandingly.

"Ok got it"

"And it's date night tonight so me and James probably won't be home until late" I smiled.

"No wonder you've pulled out the fur coat tonight!" I teased. Mrs. Mason blushed and rushed out of the door.

"See you later Kimmy!"

*************

Seeing how it was rare for me to get any extra time without Josh I decided to make use of the peace and quiet and took a nap. I settled down on the sofa and picked my legs up and just before I was able to doze off into a deep sleep Liam came wading in.

"Start of the premiership today!" He screamed excitedly, turning the T.V on and flipping to the sports channel. I groaned in disgust.

"Liam! Do you have to watch this here?" I asked, Liam laughed.

"Of course!" I sighed irritably and got up off the sofa.

"Well then I guess I'll have to go and sleep in my bedroom. Do not disturb me until half 4 capiche?" I snapped, Liam laughed.

"Don't you have to pick up a little boy...? About yay high?" Liam pretended to describe Josh. "Brown eyes? Looks a bit like me but less cute?"

"Haha very funny(!) Josh has football tonight" I explained, walking off. "And nobody is cuter than Josh' I added just before I turned the corner.

************

I don't need a parachute baby if I got you baby if I got you I don't need a para-

"Mmmm" I groaned as I rolled over.

You're gonna catch me...youre gonna catch if I fall...! Down down down...!

I picked my phone up off my bedside cabinet to decline the call. I waited until the digits '4:56pm' came into focus before throwing myself up and searching around the room frantically for something to happen.

"JOSH!" I screamed. I sprinted out of the room and ran down the stairs where Liam was walking towards the living room with a bowl of popcorn.

"Woah slow down there" Liam paced me. I shook my head violently.

"LIAM! I'M LATE! WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME?!" I screamed. Liam looked confused. I tutted. "FORGET IT!" I grunted as I sprinted out of the front door, forgetting to even bring my coat. I teetered on the edge of the pavement as I waited for the busy road to die down. Sometimes me and Josh would spend ages waiting to cross this one road.

"Kim! Wait up!" Liam called after me. I finally decided to run across the road, I mean the cars will just break when they see me right? Well I had to take a chance, Josh would be scared if he was left last to be picked up, especially when I promise to never be late for him. When I reached the central reservation ready to sprint across the other side of the road when Liam grabbed my arm. "KIM!" He screeched in my face. I tried to wiggle out of his grasp. "Are you insane?! You don't even have a coat!" I tutted.

"Let me go Liam I'm going to be late!" Liam grunted and let me go reluctantly.

"Fine...get yourself killed but don't say I didn't tell you so-"

"Liam shut up" I snapped, as I walked backwards onto the road. "I've got to fetch your little brother from school, you know because some of us have these things called 'responsibilites'...a concept you're not familiar with" I said maliciously. As I went to face where I was walking Liam called after me. I frowned in confusion but as I heard a car's horn being honked repeatedly and screeching breaks coming from my right I froze. I slowly turned my head right and saw bright headlights blinding me. I gasped and inhaled deeply...waiting for something...anything...

"AARGH"

THUMP

I crashed against the cold gravel of the other side of the pavement...I sat up straight and looked down at Liam....who was lying next to me. I believe Liam had just come and saved me from what could've been a fatal car accident. My head was spinning but I knew that this was a small price to pay considering the circumstances.

"Thanks Liam...." I said, prodding Liam's shoulder playfully. Liam's face remained floor flat. "Hey...!" I said, prodding his neck more forcefully. "Liam?" I practically pushed Liam's shoulder until he rolled over onto his back...where I saw a stream of blood running down the side of his face past his temples and onto his cheek. I suddenly began to heave. "Liam?!" I seized him by the shoulders and shook his softly. "LIAM?!" I shook him violently before weeping. I put my ear to his chest. I didn't even know what I was looking for! I cradled his face and whispered. "Please open your eyes Liam" I pleaded as I shook my head in disbelief. I sniffed sharply. I whipped my head up to see a man towering over me.

"Is he ok?" He questioned. I shook my head.

"I don't know I don't know!" I cried. "I don't understand what'd just happened!" I explained.

"Listen step back, I'm a junior doctor, so let me take a look" I stood up and backed away from Liam as the doctor walked over and checked Liam's pulse once again. "He's breathing" He said positively. I stopped biting my finger nails nervously and widened my eyes

"That's good! That's brilliant right?!"

"Of course...I think we need to ring an ambulance imm-"

"No I'm ok..." Liam suddenly croaked. I gasped.

"LIAM!" I dashed to his side and pressed my head against his chest. "You're back!"

"I still think we need to take you to the hospital"

"No I'm fine" Liam assured. Liam attempted to get up when the doctor restrained him.

"Don't move, it's best not to until the paramedics get here. We don't know what damage has been done" He suggested. Liam laughed almost before twisting his neck left right, upwards, backwards. I laughed.

"He seems fine to me..." I said. Liam then sat up straight, rolled back his shoulders and practically jumped up off the floor.

"Kim this is not the time or the place to start admiring me" I laughed and threw my arms around him.

"Liam you're fine! You're totally 100% fine!"

"Alright, you're pretty fine yourself Kim" He said whilst winking down on me I laughed and knocked his cheek softly.

"Not that sort of "fine" you dope!" Liam wasn't embarrassed, he was just his usual charming self as he grabbed my hand and faced the house.

"Now this time I am not going to let go of you until we are over this home - seriously Kim are you a 6 year old?!"

"No...even Josh is able to cross the road by himself" I said, we started to laugh when the junior doctor cleared his throat.

"Sir, I'd strongly suggest you had that wound on your head checked out" Liam sighed

"Don't worry, I'm rather resilient"

"Yes but please, just don't take any risks, especially when it's your head and even from afar I can tell that it is rather deep"

"Ok ok" Liam agreed, though his tone didn't sound as though he was actually going to the hospital.
