The note [Part 19]

        [Name]'s (e/c) eyes widened as they stared straight at the wall, hoping that Sasuke would say something afterwards. She hoped he'd just speak up and say, 'Just kidding!', but nothing but silence filled the room. She felt her heart beat heavily in her chest as an anchor pulled it down into her stomach and her breath shortened. She had to say something, she had to say something before he fell asleep. But- did she love him? She stood still and wondered, thinking of all the fights the two had in the past, quickly overwhelmed by the amount of good memories that flowed through her brain. This boy always underestimated her, but she had finally showed him what she could be.

[Name] closed her eyes and waited until she heard Sasuke's breathe relax and calm down, finally deciding to go visit her best friends room. She quietly tip toed over the young Uchiha on the floor as she creaked open the door and went into the hallway. As thoughts of Itachi flowed through her mind, a single tear rolled down her cheek, causing her to quickly sniffle and rub her face. She was a strong woman. She could kill almost everyone, she was powerful. Why was she crying? She opened Itachi's old bedroom door and went up to his bed. She gently picked up his pillow to find a note along with an Uchiha clan pendant necklace along side it. She flipped open the paper and began to read.

'Dear [Name],

I know you probably don't understand why I did what I did, or maybe you did. But if you're reading this, that must mean that Sasuke has killed me. I believe that Madara Tobi has probably already brought Sasuke there, and you've probably seen him by now. I'd like to apologize for keeping you clueless and probably scared of what was going to happen this past month. [Name], you're a powerful girl with an enormous heart, and I'd like to say from my own experience, don't kill your ties [Name]. Ignore all of what I've said before. Your emotional ties are what keep you alive. They're what keep you human. Acting like you don't care for someone is useless and a waste of time where else you could've been happy with that person.'

Tears began to roll down [Name]'s cheeks as she began to think of Itachi and Sasuke together and how it could've all went down. She quickly sniffled and blinked her eyes, trying to get rid of the tears as she continued to read.

'I know the truth about you, [Name]. I always have. I know that you have trouble being emotionless, but somehow, you always pull it off in front of others. But I always saw right through it. That's what friends are for, right? I never had trouble with that after I left Sasuke. You don't have to be emotionless forever. I know it feels like it, but it's not true. I was the one you sensed when you saw Sakura in the woods. I saw you struggling... You're not a monster, [Name]. You're human, just like everyone else, no matter what they say.

You try not to hurt others, rather I say, you try to protect them from you. I know that seeing Sasuke and Naruto again brought back lots of memories, and I know that it was hard. It wasn't my idea, but you had to see them. I didn't want you to lose yourself completely. Also, don't think that you could've saved me, I made sure that you didn't know. I had to do this, [Name]. This was my decision, it's been the plan for quite a while. It's not your fault, but I know you'll think that it was anyways...don't.

You and Sasuke will be very happy together, [Name]. Please promise me that you'll protect him with all you've got (which I know from experience is a lot) and keep him away from evil. I know that right know you aren't too sure what to do. You may be upset, confused, or even angry at me and/or Sasuke. I wasn't sure of this decision after I met you, but I knew that I had to do this. Sasuke probably knows the truth by now, and I hope that he returns to Konoha along side with you, [Name]. I heard you that one night, the night where you first got your Akatsuki jacket. Do you remember how your Konoha jacket somehow reappeared after you burned it? That was me. I don't want you to become a killer, [Name]. That's not who you are, and I know it.

Please, return back to Konoha. I want you and Sasuke to repopulate the Uchiha clan. So, take this as my blessing, [Name]. I know that you may think that it was wrong to end up with Sasuke because he killed me, but this has been my plan all along. The Akatsuki should be shutting down any day now, so I'd recommend you bring Sasuke with you once you leave. I wish you the best of luck, [Name]. It's been a pleasure to make you someone close to my heart and see you grow. Please protect my brother, you're strong enough. Take this necklace, it was supposed to be for me when I was younger, but I want you to have it. You deserve it, and you're an Uchiha in my eyes, [Name]. I'm so thankful for meeting you in the Konoha that one day a few years back. I guess this is it.... I'll see you soon.

[Name] stood still as she finished reading her dead friends note. How could this all have happened? One moment, she was off on a mission with the Uchiha, and the next, he was dead and so far away from her. [Name] sat herself on the Uchiha's bed as she wrapped herself in the blanket below her, placing her head in-between her arms. She closed her eyes and tried her best not to cry or think about the situation at all. This was all a big nightmare, right? She shook her head violently, trying to forget what her current purpose was. She opened her eyes slowly as she looked around the medium sized room. It was dim, and all 4 walls were a plain cream/orange color with a few torches and symbols hanging around. All her past memories in this room came flowing back to her, both good and bad. Itachi was there for her no matter what had happened. But he wanted her to return, and if that's what he wanted, that's what she was going to do. But with Sasuke? How could Itachi love Sasuke so much, that he'd lead him on his entire life? Just so he could become strong? [Name] slowly began to loose her thoughts as she fell asleep.

"Thank you for everything, Itachi..."
