[Name] yawned, rubbing her eyes. As she looked around, she remembered what had happened the previous night. She began to chuckle. What went wrong? One second, she's getting some ramen, then the next second she's recruited into the Akatsuki. But now wasn't the time to complain, she had to start her training with Pein tomorrow. She once again shook her thoughts out of her head and got out of bed. She looked around the room and moved her head in circles, loosening her neck. [Name] reached for her jacket and put it on, leaving her bedroom. As she opened the door, Pein stood at her doorway.

"Ah!" She yelled, stumbling onto the floor from surprise.

"Starting tomorrow, you train with me every morning at 10 am. Training times go on as long as I say they will." He spoke turning to face his back toward her. "And starting today, your partner is Itachi Uchiha. Because of recent deaths, we have changed team members. Plus, I know you two get along quite well."

[Name]'s eyes widened.

"I'm going to be on Itachi's team? Why the hell would you do that?" She stammered.

Pein calmly turned toward her again.

"You two are equals, and you will be given assignments together."

She nodded, still in shock of what the man had just said. Itachi? Her? Equals? She didn't think so. But if that's what he wanted, that's what he was going to get.

"Any assignments for today?" [Name] asked politely.

Pein nodded.

"Go talk to Itachi, he'll explain it to you." He spoke, disappearing from plain sight.

[Name] sighed. No one ever told her that this S-Ranked criminal life would put so much stress on her. She rubbed her temples and continued to roam the hallways, hoping to find Itachi. After a few minutes of looking around and searching for the male, she stumbled upon Deidara.

"Ooof..." Deidara stood still.

The two had pushed right into each other. [Name] fell to the ground, looking up at Deidara.

"Man, do all of you guys do this?" She asked, annoyed.

Deidara pushed his hand toward her, offering his help. She gently grabbed his hand, as he helped her up.

"I guess you could say that." He spit.

She could tell from his tone of voice that he was still mad about yesterday. Reading these emotionless people started to come faster to her everyday. She smiled.

"Hey, I'm sorry about yesterday. I was just trying to protect myself, I had no idea who you guys were or what you were gonna do with me." She chuckled.

"Yeah," He spoke, rubbing his shoulder. "Agh..It's fine."

"Is your shoulder hurt?" She asked out of curiosity.

Deidara's eyes widened at the sound of her concern.

"Yeah, I think it happened yesterday. But I'm fine, really." He said, eyes relaxing.

[Name] smiled. He was trying to act tough, huh? She knew more about that than anyone else here. [Name] always saw through peoples arrogance, maybe that's why her and Sasuke got along so well.

"Come with me." She said, grabbing him by his hand and running him to her bedroom.

As she pulled the man into her room, she sat him down on her bed and moved his jacket away from his shoulder. She quickly placed her hands on the large bruise.

"Hey! What are you-"

A green ora surrounded her palms as he began to feel the pain disappear. At the sight of Deidara's smile, [Name] finally felt like she was doing something right. The bruise slowly disappeared.

"You specialize in quite a lot, don't you, [Name]?" A voice appeared behind her.

She tugged Deidara's jacket back into place. [Name] turned around to see Itachi standing in the door way. She smiled.

"I wouldn't call it that.I just find it necessary to be able to fight, and heal your comrades at the same time." She chuckled. "Only knowing how to fight would make me in a way useless."

Deidara placed his hand onto [Name]'s shoulder. As she turned to look at him, she saw a smile on his face.

"Thank you, [Name]." He said, pulling himself up. "But I better get going before Sasori goes around looking for me."

[Name] politley nodded as Deidara departed from the room. A flash of green appeared in the corner of her eye, and as she looked toward it, she saw her Konoha jacket appear neatly folded and untouched on her bed. She looked back at it, confused.

"Are you ready to go, [Name]?" Itachi spoke, interrupting [Name]'s trance.

She gulped. What had happened to her jacket? How was it back on her bed? Didn't it burn last night?

"Yeah," She nodded. "I'm ready."

[Name] followed Itachi out of the hideout, which showed itself to be closer to Konoha than she thought. She climbed up the ladder behind Itachi and stood up, overlooking the city.

"Wow..." She spoke under her breath.

"Oh," Itachi spoke, pulling a black ring with the word 闇 engraved into it. "Before I forget, this now belongs to you."

[Name] reached for the ring and looked down on it. What a coincidence! The word darkness engraved onto a black ring? She smiled, pushing it onto her right hand. She looked down at her index finger.

"Is that all?" She asked. "Or can we finally do something?"

"Oh, thanks for reminding me." He said, handing her a kunai. "You might want to scratch that." He said, pointing at her headband.

She quickly untied her Konoha forehead protector and looked down upon it. She gulped. Who would have known that leaving the village would cause such emotional distress? Her hands began to shake and she held onto the kunai, bringing it closer and closer to the metal. A hand suddenly grabbed hers, calming her nerves.

"You've got to kill all your ties, [Name]." He said, firmly grasping her small hands. "You can get them back if you ever decide to leave."

As she looked up at Itachi, she realized the truth. These people weren't bad people, they were just introduced to her that way. She nodded her head and scraped a line across her metal forehead protector. Itachi backed back away from [Name] as she tied it back around her forehead.

"You are now an official member of the Akatsuki." He smiled." But that means that you no longer have emotions, especially during missions. Do you understand?" Itachi questioned.

"Yes, sir." She bowed, feeling inferior.

"We're a team, [Name]. You don't have to bow to me." He said calmly. "Now, lets get going. We're going to make a little visit to Jinchuriki number 1."
