Chapter 22:
Whoa, I can’t believe it’s been a week already, I didn’t think I would like it here but it’s not too bad. I thought to myself as I lay in my bed waiting for the lunch bell to ring, I pull my hood off because I was alone, Lance ran off with Clint and Joel. I must’ve drifted off for a nap because the next thing I know, Lance is right up in my face yelling.
“SUPPER!” Lance yells as I open my eyes. I look at him, wide eyed and his jaw was dropped. CRAP! My hood! As I think of what to do, should I explain, should I act like nothing is wrong? He grabs his gun and holds it against my forehead. CRAP!!!!! THIS IS BAD!! I yell at myself in my head for being so stupid.
“You’re a Grimm?” Lance stutters out.
“NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!” I say holding my hands up in surrender as he flinches at my sudden movement. My heart starts racing, feeling like it was going to burst out of my chest, a lump in my throat forms, making it hard to swallow or speak.
“Tell me one good reason I shouldn’t shoot you right now!” Lance yells, looking more hurt that I hadn’t told him before than scared that I might actually be a Grimm.
“Lance, Man, I’m not a Grimm!” I say, trying not to lose it, THIS IS CRAZY!
“If I was a Grim, I would’ve killed you by now! Come on, you gotta believe me! Please, I promise!” I say, pretty much begging for him not to end my life. I look at Lance, I can see in his eyes that he wants to believe me; he is lowering the gun just slightly but then quickly sliding it back up.
“Please?” I say, probably having the most horrified and scared look on my face. Then he lowers it, I feel like 100 pounds was lifted off my chest as I sink down into my mattress.
“It’s supper…” Lance said, waiting for me to leave first. Even though he lowered the gun, I don’t think he totally trusted me, I could tell because he slipped a pistol into his pants before he left.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: whoa, 2 chapters on 1 day? i'm on a roll! i'll see if i can do another chapter today, not promising anything though!
