Okay fine, here's some fluff

"Ugh, where is it?"

Etho was searching all over his and Joel's room, looking for one item he wore everyday.

His mask.

The black mask that we wore on his face daily was gone from the nightstand, yet it was there the night before.

Checking the chests, Etho couldn't find his mask anywhere. He turned around, a sigh of frustration escaping his mouth, closing his eyes. When he opened them again, he noticed that the room was a mess with him trying to find his mask for the last 30 minutes.

"Oh god.."

Sighing once again, Etho cleaned up the room to the way it was before, still not finding his mask in the process. As he folded one of Joel's hoodies away, that when he realized where his mask might be.

No one could've broken into their ship at night, and took his mask, right?

If that wasn't the case, then Joel 100% had it. He must have stolen it when he woke up before Etho, and went downstairs with it. Etho walked out the room, and headed downstairs, knowing that Joel had the mask.

When he walked into the kitchen, he saw Joel sitting on the counter, Etho's mask worn around his mouth, not noticing that Etho was there. Smiling, Etho leaned against the doorframe, calling Joel's name in a low voice.

"Joel, why do you have my mask?"

Joel jumped, not knowing that Etho was watching him. His hands went to his mouth first, trying to hide the mask that he was wearing.

"Y-Yeah?" Joel tried, his voice muffled by Etho's mask and his hands. Etho smiled and shook his head, walking to stand next to Joel. Joel's hands slowly left his mouth, and when the opportunity showed itself, Etho grabbed his mask and took it. Joel yelped, trying and failing to take the mask back. Etho laughed at Joel's failure, putting his mask back on.

"Hey! What was that for?" Joel asked, staring daggers at Etho.

"Well, you did take my mask, so it's best that I got revenge and took it back." Etho replied calmly, a smile on his face underneath his mask.

Joel grumbled something that Etho couldn't hear and wrapped his arms around Etho's waist, hiding his face. Etho laughed quietly, kissing the top of Joel's head.

"I hate you." Joel muttered, still hiding his face into Etho's chest.

"I love you too." Etho replied back, and Joel kissed his cheek.

Most morning started like this, and that was one of the best parts of Etho and Joel's day.
