Harry yawned as he woke up, he looked around and found that he wasn't waking up in the hospital wing, or his Slytherin room and not even his room at the Tonks family house. No, he was in Number Twelve Grimmauld place, in a bedroom that he had been told belonged to Sirius's deceased brother, Regulus Black. They all had to sneak in quietly last night or risk waking up the portrait of Sirius's mother, who was apparently quite the screamer.

There was plenty of room in the house since it was fairly large even before it had been magically expanded, and the only other two people in the house at the moment were Remus and Sirius. Ted and Andromeda had gotten their own room together, Tonks had offered to share one with Harry but Harry had politely refused and requested a separate room, it wasn't even that he didn't want to spend time with Tonks, Harry just needed some time to himself. All in all, Harry didn't really mind the taste that Regulus had, the room was designed to be comforting for a Slytherin, which Harry fortunately was.

Despite this, Harry was not happy with the situation at all, he didn't want to be in this old room (even if it was the only one in the house that didn't need to be cleaned). At this point in the summer he should have been in the Tonks family home with Andromeda, Ted and Nym, laughing at something on TV and eating Andromeda's delicious food. But no...he was in this stuffy house because he couldn't risk Voldemort attacking his house and the Tonks family. The worst part was that Harry could actually understand why they were doing this, it wasn't like they were being ridiculously paranoid. For all Harry knew it was possible for Voldemort to somehow start believing that the key to getting Harry to join him would be to take out all of Harry's family.

"Are you going to wake up yet?" Jet asked, sat on a chair by a desk.

"No," Harry said as he curled up in bed, pulling the covers as close to himself as possible, enjoying the warm feeling. "I am a warm and toasty cinnamon bun right now, I'm also likely to hex the first person to stop me from being one." Harry added before closing his eyes and staying in bed for another half an hour, which in Harry's opinion was fine since he always woke up earlier than everyone else.

Harry let out a small sigh as he sat up, at night he hadn't worn anything beyond a pair of knee length, black shorts. Harry took his wand and quickly cast some basic cleaning spells on himself.

He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and stood up, once he was standing he started stretching before Thor flew onto his shoulder, Harry looked at the young thunderbird and saw that he was now roughly the same size as a cockatoo bird, Harry had been expecting him to be bigger by now based off how big an average thunderbird could get. So far Harry theorized that they were either late bloomers or the familiar bond somehow affected Thor's aging process, as long as Thor was happy and healthy Harry couldn't say that he minded too much.

"You ready for breakfast little guy?" Harry whispered to Thor as he put on a pair of indoor slippers and picked up a shirt and slung it over his free shoulder, Thor let out a happy trill in response and playfully nibbled on Harry's ear. "I'll take that as a yes." Harry chuckled before he picked up Jet and let him wrap around his left arm. "Hedwig," Harry spoke to his white owl that was still resting on a perch. "you want to eat now or should I bring some food back for you later?" Harry asked, Hedwig wasn't exactly a familiar but she was smart enough that she might as well have been.

"Hoot, hoot." Hedwig replied.

"Two hoots, so that's the second one?" Harry asked.

"Hoot." Hedwig confirmed with a nod.

"Fair enough." Harry nodded before he walked out of the room, and walked down stairs. As soon as he got down the curtains that had been covering the portrait of Sirius's mother flung open, the portrait of Walburga Black was about to start screaming and shouting but stopped when she caught sight of Harry.
