"The ref gave me a yellow card for nothing. Every fucking week it's something," I vented, frustration evident in my voice as I spoke to Brielle over FaceTime.

"Yeah, we were all mad about it when we saw. I just want to say, regardless, you played really well, and I'm really proud of you. Keep your head up," she responded, her words offering a comforting reassurance.

"Thanks baby. Your support means everything to me," I said, feeling a warmth spreading through me at her encouragement. "I miss you, you know. I need you here"

"I miss you too babe," Brielle replied softly, her voice filled with genuine affection. "But I'm cheering you on from afar. Don't worry, I'm on the roster for the next away game. I'm not sure I had told you about that"

"First time hearing. Apart from winning, this might be the best news I've gotten all day" I said rolling on my side as I held the phone.

She smiled, "I'm really looking forward to it too. It'll be great to support you in person and experience the excitement of the away games firsthand," she said.

As we discussed the upcoming trip and made plans for our time together, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation building within me. Having Brielle by my side during the away game would make the experience even more special, but different given what sometimes took place when were 'away'.

We weren't allowed to have our partners staying in our rooms, but players will find a way of sneaking whoever they wanted in. I would know. I've done it countless times, though it's not a practice to have sex before my games, there were times when my hormones got the best of me.

I've seen players whose girlfriends would be on the away games with them but staying in a different hotel, and they sneak another girl in. With Brielle actually being a part of the team, it's even easier to get her in my room. Much harder if I ever even dreamed of having another girl over.

"Well I'll be happy to have you here with me" I said refocusing on the conversation. "I have to admit, I'm getting a little tired of Ester. She's always so miserable and negative about everything," I confessed.

"I've never met her, but I'm sure you're the problem" she laughed.

"Whatever, she was on me because I misplaced my carryon" I sighed.

"Jude, how do you misplace your carry on? Why are you such a handful?"

We continued to chat for a while. I couldn't help but smile as Brielle recounted some of her own experiences from the day, her enthusiasm contagious even through the screen.

"The hotel food is really bad, by the way," I complained, making a face as I glanced down at the unappetizing meal on my plate.

She laughed,"I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe you should order something else for dinner."

"I wish I could, but it's too late to order anything now," I sighed, resigned to enduring another disappointing meal. "I'll just have to make do with what they've given me."

As our conversation continued, I decided to give Brielle a glimpse of the view from my hotel room. I turned the camera towards the window, revealing the city skyline illuminated against the night sky.
